@F1BigData Charles Leclerc is a 3 time world champion if points are awarded for leading the first lap

Exactly 3 years ago, Fernando Alonso took the lead at race start in Jeddah, which also put him virtually at the top of the driver standings Today, he is fighting against a nerve damage torture chamber

@LAT3BRAKING I don’t get why Lewis gets to have bad years and not George . 2022 was just a case of Russell underperforming in a new team

@effwons @AlexLacl He couldn’t use his late braking technique you genius! It’s exactly the same! Same thing happened with Ricciardo! They didn’t forget how to driver all of a sudden… Same thing happened to Vettel with the 2014 engines! He could never manage a car with torque and loose rear end…

Yes it neutralized MV skills in fast corners but he should adapt to it or find a way to be faster. GE cars nerfed Hamilton, Pirelli tyres nerfed Webber & MSC, Bridgestone 2007 nerfed several drivers, Active Cars nerfed Prost yet they all tried to adapt and complained less 👍

@AlexLacl @MITC_WindoW Well, you are wrong. As Peter says, the gap between teammates has reduced because the faster drivers cannot make much of a difference anymore. Even Isaac will be closer to Max. They are not more aggressive lol, they are slower through most corners that matter compared to 2025

@MITC_WindoW @effwons The 2026 cars can be driven more aggressively and you didnt need 1 specific driving style to make these cars works like in GE era Hamilton and Antonelli are good examples they are completely different from last year

@Hope13sg @AlexLacl Not sure what is so hard to understand. These regulations neutralize driver differences, which means the teammates of Max and Charles have a better opportunity to match them. Doesn’t mean beat, just match Lewis was beaten comprehensively in GE era, not the same thing

@effwons @AlexLacl Wasn’t the the thing that made Lewis hard to beat also neutralised in the GE era. Like at least be consistent

@brakeboosted I fear we might not see a Hungary 2025 like qualifying anytime soon, where a driver uses better instincts to get pole when conditions change dramatically We are now going to see who’s software adapts the best, which is a damn shame

@NobleF1 These rules are a farce, especially for year 1 of new engine regulations. I am sure Toto was involved in drafting it, otherwise makes no sense to freeze straightaway

Ferrari is close to the benchmark Mercedes squad, but reckons based on current performance levels it will be allowed an engine upgrade later this year. #F1. the-race.com/formula-1/ferr…

@ESPNF1 Ferrari saying “race each other” sounds great… until the first wheel-to-wheel moment. Who actually wins that battle over a season: Hamilton or Leclerc?

China Wrap Up 🇨🇳 Another good weekend. Ferrari gave it a go but Mercedes just to quick again. Conditions on Sunday fell perfect for Mercedes track cooled alot, Ferrari raced each other. George Kimi Lewis and Charles all showed the world of F1 how we should actually go racing

@HughesMarston @Danelerc Dude, just learn to appreciate both . Charles has beaten more multi world champions than Lewis ever has . And has already schooled him last year. Show some humility , even Lewis himself does

@effwons @Danelerc Yes he has.. Alsonso, Jensen, Nico.. all world champions. And then George who is similar to Charles. I see a lot of Leclerc fans beating their chest about how good Charles is, and he is good. But I think there’s a lot of overconfidence that underestimates Lewis. - even at 41.

@effwons @Danelerc Oh, I’ve watched Charles for a long time. He’s never had a teammate like Lewis Hamilton, due respect to Vettel and Carlos… but this will be good for Charles..

@effwons @Danelerc On those early stints Lewis is often managing. I know you haven’t watched Lewis closely, but in the earlier stints his teammates often appear faster, and then in the last 20 laps Lewis comes alive. This is a pattern you’ll come to understand.

@glazerof16 @AndyGraham22 I think you are just overly critical tbh. The mistakes are what make them human and not robots. Every single driver on the grid does them, but they are forgotten/noticed based on the outcome

@AndyGraham22 To be abit critical he still has that occasional lock up/missed corner in him every other race, really hope for cleaner upcoming races. Even if this wasn’t a strong track for him, that lock up was very consequential and would be even more so in a hypothetical championship fight.

Charles had a strong weekend overall, probably could’ve finished on the podium but had the mistake and another lockup in that last stint. Still things to figure out, but the baseline is very strong.
