The ED is such a wild place because I can bring someone back from the brink of death, but I can’t find a pillow for a patient

BREAKING: The Supreme Court ruled today that cities can punish unhoused people for sleeping in public, even if they have nowhere else to go.  We cannot arrest our way out of homelessness.

Palestine is freeing us from any doubt that academic institutions serve the systems of oppression first and foremost, that of white supremacy, structural racism, and colonialism. Any sense of a facade has been completely shattered. There is no going back to the status quo.

There is no evidence that suggests medical students’ learning of antiracist curricula or increasing the diverse representation of physicians leads to worse health outcomes. In fact, evidence suggests the opposite. DEI efforts in medicine help save lives. This bill is dangerous.

we can’t stop genocide, or any single symptom/tactic that capitalist-imperialist states use to expand and protect their interests. when we ask “how do we stop genocide?” the task seems insurmountable. but there is a rich history of people effectively toppling capitalist states.

Tearing down homeless encampments in the winter doesn't mean people get into shelter, it means you just took away the last level of protection against the freezing cold for many people.

If you are too afraid to speak up for Palestine in your current stage of life/career, you will always remain cowering in a "my career comes first" condition, *because the chokehold of institutional pressure does not get looser as we ascend up its ladder🪜
