@jimb0_12 Tim Paine absolutely robbed a test career, hard to believe he was captain!

@mattylufc_ Why put cox at 7 when he’s not keeping? Smith only went up to 6 because stokes batting is shot…

I never like it when we don’t pick a spinner. Cox jumping ahead of Rew is relatively unsurprising and to be fair that’s a tough call. Rew’s time will come. Looking forward to Baker getting unleashed but I feel there’s better options than Fisher.

JUST IN: England name their XI for the second Test against New Zealand at The Oval 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Jordan Cox and Sonny Baker are set to make their Test debuts, with England making four changes from the Lord's Test. IN: Cox, Archer, Fisher, Baker OUT: Stokes, Robinson, Atkinson, Bashir

@jimb0_12 Good to hear it’s not something that will tarnish his legacy, however captain breaking curfew at first opportunity after so many recent problems can’t really be ignored I’m afraid

@ItsAndyRyan I recently read that football is so named as a game played on foot, as opposed to horseback. Maybe apocryphal but gives more weight to the American argument

I used to get riled by Americans using the word soccer, but their arguments for it have convinced me it's petty to object to it given a) Britain invented the term in the first place, and b) There are lots of other games called football, not just America's.

@jimb0_12 I still think it could have been different if they let him open in Windies instead of Trott. 3 extra tests to learn and pad the stats, could have survived the Ashes and prospered

@ItsAndyRyan Next to Den Haag there's also Den Bosch but I guess that wouldn't get translated to The Bosch.

Is The Hague the only city with the definite article in its name? For years I'd hear 'The Hague' and assume it was a building or institution.

I’m intrigued by the argument that Labour can’t change the leader as the Tories did. Does anyone think it was a bad idea when May was replaced by Johnson- when he won an 80 seat majority? Or that Johnson should have been replaced after Partygate? Or that Truss should have been replaced for being Truss? In each case, it minimised political damage.

@jimb0_12 Is there a chance it’s Bashir again? Wouldn’t be my pick but he has a “respectable” record so far this season which maybe makes it a lazy selection
