@SouthwestAir new business model is garbage. Since charging for bags, I have not been on a flight where we have "limited overhead space" and "weight and balance issues." Staff shame people into checking their carry-ons to avoid delays. This was a non-issue with free bags. Shame.

@espn putting profits over people again! You have multiple channels, yet you broadcast football on ALL of them instead of showing @AustralianOpen tennis. If you care so little about fans, let @TennisChannel show matches!

Check out my new article with @EconSargent ! We use a gravity model to show that length and era of colonial occupation impact future migration rates from Africa to Europe in nonlinear ways. A tiny step forward in unpacking the economic effects of a complicated colonial history.

@Enquirer @XavierU now the feed for the debate is dead. Please get this working. Ohio voters deserve to hear these candidates.

@EconZach @petercatron @ekosack The instructions for the 1908 records establish three values for complexion: light, medium, or dark. So, my guess is that it is a Dk. I think some officials didn’t write the D in full.

When I got an email today saying that we should make ourselves available for office hours in the student dorms (like students ordering help via room service), I thought for sure @ass_deans had hijacked the email distribution list! Nope...it was real 🤦‍♂️

I argue that 1) you should include Black families when measuring an inequality concept like mobility 2) historical data on occupations contains error After addressing these issues, historical mobility estimates completely change and imply *low* mobility before World War II.

@FairweatherPhD I look at it as I GET to attend graduation every year! It is the best day of the year seeing everyone so happy and excited. Frankly, it makes me sad that so many of my colleagues skip one of the most important parts of our job.
