Unpopular opinion: I don’t care if most web apps look the same. All I care about is whether it does what it says and does it fast. Make it fast. Make the UX obvious. Put the right things in the right place and little to no animations.

So many things I don't know how to do. Too little time to learn them all.

Today marks the end of my time at @xai I was incredibly fortunate to have joined at a time where I was able to help take us from nothing to something across a few surfaces. It has been a privilege to work alongside some of the world’s best for almost two years and share in the ups, downs and everything in-between. I wish all of them well, past and present, and want to thank them for what has been a very special period of my life!

Instead of doing a TanStack Conf, I'm seriously considering inviting everyone to just meet up on a Caribbean-bound cruise ship. It'd be cheaper in every way, you could bring as many family/friends as you want, and instead of wasting time on talks/booths, we can just chat endlessly about JS/TS/Web over unlimited freestyle soda machines, soft-serve ice-cream and mini golf. It’s one of those: today was my last day at @xAI. xAI has been a tremendous formative experience for me, building the API, Grok.com, and everything in between, it’s been crazy and hectic, but overall amazing. I’m especially grateful to everyone I’ve worked with, @TobyPhln and the team in London, you’re the most talented team I’ve ever worked with. I’ll be cheering from the sidelines, really excited to see what the xAI team is going to come up with next!

Picked up my first Tesla on Monday. Impressions: very quick, thoroughly inspected the glovebox and button (no complaints), price was very on-brand. Can't wait to do 0-20mph in 0.6s in London.

@DanHollick My head says the whole screen screaming at you in light mode should be enough to let you know what the current mode is. The heart disagrees and would still have it as the icon in the toggle

Question. Should a dark/light mode toggle like this show a) the current mode? b) the mode that clicking it would enable?
