my hot take is that if you recognize clothing was better generations ago and think that it should still be so today, you have to be willing to pay the prices people paid for clothes generations ago (which is not $50 dress shirts, $70 pants, $90 shoes)

Oh Jesus, this tweet was less than a year ago? Time really has lost all meaning. (I stand by my original reply, btw. It’s not always that simple; if tech wants us all syncing our calendars, maybe tech should make calendars that fucking work.)

This is in St. John's, but you see stuff like this all over cities, including Toronto, if you keep your eyes open. I think it's an under-remarked beautiful thing that artists are relentlessly decorating cities — generally without permission, credit or compensation.

I taught high school briefly (Commtech) and one of the things that struck me the most about that time was that school is sometimes the best and safest part of some kids' day. - We need to protect kids. Blanket policies like this don't do that.

These policies will kill kids. In 2022, 45% of LGBTQ youth eriously considered committing suicide, including more than half of trans and nonbinary youth. But LGBTQ youth consistently report lower rates of attempting suicide if they have access to affirming spaces.

Just found out that someone had my great grandfather who lived his entire life in the UK, who was a Primitive Methodist religion wise, was baptized by someone in the Mormon church in December 1980 in Iowa Falls. Our family is very angry. Also, they won’t tell us who did it.
