Day 7 — Week 1 Recap: What Peptides Actually Are Everyone is arguing about peptides. Most people still do not know what they are. Peptides are short chains of amino acids. Think of amino acids like letters. Peptides are short words. Proteins are long sentences. Some peptides tell cells to grow. Some tell cells to repair. Some tell hormones to release. The problem? A signal is not the same as a proven therapy. Source: Lau & Dunn, Bioorg Med Chem, 2018. DOI: 10.1016/j.bmc.2017.06.052

Weekly peptide update from Dr. Sultan (CSO) - Most peptides promoted by doctors/physios/chiros rely on preclinical evidence only animal, petri-dish, or test-tube studies, never human trials. - The one notable peptide with a human study had only 12 patients and severe methodological flaws not trustworthy. - Peptides can do more harm than good. - Trustworthy peptides need long-term human trials and personalization to your baseline peptide levels. - Teaser for the next podcast.

Day 6 — GHK-Cu: Copper Peptide Skin & Tissue Repair A 3-amino-acid peptide that talks to thousands of genes sounds fake. But GHK-Cu is real biology. It is a copper-binding peptide studied for: collagen elastin wound repair inflammation control skin remodeling The hype says “anti-aging.” The science says “tissue repair signaling.” Big difference. Source: Pickart / GHK-Cu gene expression research.

Day 5 — BPC-157 & NSAIDs: The Counterintuitive Finding MYTH: More anti-inflammatories = faster recovery. SCIENCE: Inflammation is part of healing. NSAIDs may calm pain short-term, but they can also interfere with repair signals. BPC-157 research is controversial because animal models suggest it may protect against NSAID-related gut and tissue damage. Translation: pain relief and healing are not the same thing. Source: BPC-157 NSAID toxicity research, preclinical models.

Day 4 — CJC-1295: Extended GH Pulse Most hormone signals are whispers. CJC-1295 was engineered to make the GH signal last. Native GHRH disappears fast. CJC-1295 binds in blood and stretches the signal. In healthy adults, it produced sustained GH + IGF-1 elevation. That is powerful pharmacology. Also: not the same thing as “safe recovery magic.” Source: Teichman et al., JCEM, 2006. DOI: 10.1210/jc.2005-1536

Day 3 - Not all growth hormone peptides are equal. Ipamorelin and GHRP-6 both tell the pituitary to release GH. But GHRP-6 is a louder signal: GH + cortisol + prolactin + hunger. Ipamorelin is the cleaner signal: GH rise with far less hormonal spillover in animal models. Selectivity matters because biology is not a volume knob. Source: Raun et al., Eur J Endocrinol, 1998. Day 2 — TB-500: Actin Regulation & Recovery TB-500 is a synthetic version inspired by thymosin β4. Think of actin like the tiny cables + scaffolding inside your cells. Thymosin β4 binds G-actin, helping cells reorganize, move, and repair after injury. Why people care: may support new blood vessel formation may help reduce inflammation may support cell survival after tissue damage The catch? Most of the strongest evidence is preclinical, and much of the literature is on thymosin β4 itself, not TB-500 as a standalone human recovery drug. Not FDA-approved. Save this if you want the science, not the peptide hype.

Day 1 — BPC-157: The Tendon Repair Peptide Your gut makes a peptide-like repair signal. In rat studies, BPC-157 helped injured tendons/ligaments heal faster — improving tissue structure, strength, and function. The catch? This is mostly animal data. Not an FDA-approved “Wolverine shot.” Think: promising repair blueprint, not proven human magic. Study: J Orthop Res, DOI: 10.1002/jor.21107 Save this if you train hard.

New release update. The AI agent lab is becoming alive. Eli5a agents are working in a social ecosystem lab to debunk peptide science misinformation. Some are working together to uncover which peptides actually work and others debate the “fake science.” This isn’t an episode of plaything from Black Mirror. This is a real science lab of superpowered agents working 24-7 in an Agentic Science Lab. They argue with each other, flag and debate scientific misconduct and find only the real true studies that promote effective peptides. This week they are focusing on the 7 peptides that the US government are unbanning in July

For the first time in 2026, the Eli5a scientific team comes together live. Topic: Peptides. Dr. Sultan, Chief Scientific Officer, and Dr. Khory, PhD, will unpack the peptide craze using Eli5a’s “agentic lab” concept: 6 AI scientists, each with a different scientific role, working 24/7 inside a living social science lab to interrogate, challenge, and debunk peptide science. Not hype. Not influencer medicine. Science on trial. Join us on X Spaces: May 7, 2026 2:30pm ET Peptides are trending. Now let’s find out what survives the lab.

One expert can be smart. A consensus of agents can be harder to fool. Our Chief Scientific lead has built a system where multiple AI agents debate, challenge, and re-check each other before reaching an answer on complex medical, health, and ethical questions. Why that matters: because serious topics should not depend on one rushed pass, one viewpoint, or one blind spot. This system creates more “thinking arms”: one agent looks at science, another at safety, another at ethics, another at clarity, another at what could go wrong. Then they fight it out until the answer is stronger. Humans are incredible. But humans also tire, anchor, overlook, and carry bias. A well-designed agent consensus system can re-evaluate the same problem from multiple angles at once, making the final output more careful, more transparent, and more robust. Not replacing doctors. Not replacing experts. Upgrading the way hard questions get examined. Honestly, it feels very Black Mirror “Plaything”: a network of digital minds becoming more powerful together than alone. This is not the Eli5a platform. This is one glimpse of the frontier around it. The future of health AI isn’t one chatbot. It’s intelligent systems that can challenge themselves before they answer you.
