I finally took 30 minutes to learn about jj (git alternative on steroids). I'm still on the basics but I can tell you that this fits the definition of **great software** the way changes and commits work compared to git make a lot of sense and the CLI/TUI experience is awesome

I just built a full Linux userspace in 5 seconds. Is this Go coming home? We often think of Go as the language of the Cloud: microservices, Kubernetes, and REST APIs. However, when I look at u-root, a project that builds a complete, portable Linux userspace (shell, init, utils) into a single static binary, it feels like Go is doing what it was actually designed to do. It’s easy to forget that Go was created by Rob Pike and Ken Thompson, the old school minds behind Unix technologies. Go wasn't built to just write JSON parsers. u-root reflects that original vision. By exploiting the Linux stable syscall ABI (which we discussed recently), u-root allows us to build low-level system environments without the nightmare of: libc version mismatches. Complex toolchains (Yocto/Buildroot). Dynamic linking hell. It’s just the kernel and a static Go binary. Clean and simple... but not UNIX-y? 😱 Maybe Go isn't just a "Web Language" that got lucky! Maybe it was built on some solid principles? It's an interesting experiment in putting together a minimal operating system on different ideas.

what do you use for testing your APIs?

Professionals don't use FFmpeg and FFprobe. They use extremely expensive software that runs FFmpeg inside (and that vendor contributes nothing back)
