*Cronch* I ran over a rock and found crystals inside! It's pure sulfur. (And no, it doesn’t smell.) Elemental sulfur is something we’ve never seen before on Mars. We don't know much about these yellow crystals yet, but my team is excited to investigate. go.nasa.gov/4bPdSow

Many people have no idea how these things work. For example, right now, as a Brazilian, I can't accept invitations to speak at conferences in Europe because my visa to work in the U.S. has expired. I am not illegal; I have a work contract with the University of California until 2027. Still, I must travel outside the U.S. and get a visa stamp on my passport to allow me to move freely to talk about science. I have to do this every single year I stay in the U.S. The costs of the visa, traveling, time lost, etc, are all on me. Not every international scientist can handle this.

This is a reminder that international scientists face various hurdles and citizenship in some countries is worse than others. I had 2 students miss 4-6 weeks this year JUST to renew their visas (India and China). (have to admit that global south was confusing, coming from NZ)

Sometimes if you want to study the Moon, you have to bring the Moon to you! I bet most geologists don't think they'll be working with dynamite when they start studying rocks, but we created a simulated Moon in the 1970s for astronaut training that you can still visit today!

Come to #LPSC2024 poster #1460 TONIGHT (Thursday) to hear about Kris Laferriere (@KrisLaferriere)'s work on the spiral troughs at Mars' north pole! We're finding ice accumulation rates are likely controlled by regional processes whereas retreat rates seem to dictated locally.

Flight controllers commanded a lunar correction maneuver to raise Odysseus’ orbit overnight and updated the anticipated landing time to 1524 CST. We expect the landing stream to start on the IM-1 web page and NASA TV at 1400 CST. The content on both streams is identical. intuitivemachines.com/im-1
