@GalaxyBodes @theparthrastogi I didn’t stick to anything I didn’t like 😆 I had a lot of jobs because I had the choice. Houses are ridiculously expensive now so it’s much tougher.
I did have everyone’s cast off furniture for a few years though
English

@ellen_mac3 @theparthrastogi You just made my point. We didn't necessarily 'like' our jobs but we stuck to them because we had student loans and other bills to pay off.We lived off Kraft dinner, soup in a cup, tuna sandwiches and had patio furniture and futons instead of real furniture for the first few years
English

@Wendy___p @theparthrastogi Not the case at all. My sons have found it really difficult to get any kind of job . Lucky to get a rejection, usually they hear nothing. Two have now managed to get one, one still trying.
Where abouts do you live, maybe it’s different area to area. We’re in the midlands
English

@ellen_mac3 @theparthrastogi Nowadays, if you can talk, you have a job. In the 90's, the unemployment rate was much much bigger than now.
English

@Wendy___p @Heche35 @theparthrastogi Guess I was lucky but the house was only £52k. Graduated in 98. All of my friends went straight into work, a lot didn’t buy but I didn’t want to rent.
English

@ellen_mac3 @Heche35 @theparthrastogi I only had a house at 34.
With my degree, I only found a job after 10 months in 1997. Of my class, after 10 months not even 30% had found a job. My first job had a daily travel time of 5 hours. All in the 90's...
English

@Heche35 @Wendy___p @theparthrastogi I can only compare my own circumstances with my childrens current experience. I had it a lot easier, free uni, plenty of work available, bought a house at 23. It was all doable on mediocre wages. Not the case now.
English

@ellen_mac3 @Wendy___p @theparthrastogi Every generation has had it difficult in their own way. The modern obsession with victimhood is poison.
English

@Wendy___p @theparthrastogi It was so easy getting a job in the 90s compared with now! Just the fact you didn’t have to have three rounds of interviews to get a basic job is one of the them. It’s incredibly hard for anyone starting out now.
English

@theparthrastogi 1990's: very hard to get a job, non-existing work/life balance (I had to travel 5 hours a day to get to my work).
2026: easy to get a job, teleworking facilities, better work/life balance, heatlhier food, ... The only thing that got worse are housing prices.
English

@GalaxyBodes @theparthrastogi The cards are stacked against younger generations, I can see it clearly with my kids in their twenties. It was a lot easier back then. Didn’t like your job, left and got another the same week. Not the case now!
English

@theparthrastogi Biggest generational difference is that we didn't sit around all day bitching and whining about how 'haaaaaarrrrd' life was, we just got to work and got on with our lives.
English

@clguffey @theparthrastogi I married at 23 and bought our first house at 23. First child at 25. This was not normal with my friends group! Many only had kids late 30s.

Don’t t you love that @SkyNews and Jon Craig are expending soooo much time on a stolen mobile phone from a non minister when they did ZERO over 2 PRIME MINISTERS losing all of their WhatsApp’s from a once in a hundred year pandemic where hundreds of thousands died ? Not a peep

Nigel Farage took £585,000 from GB News. His MPs declared another £770,000. Four billionaires have spent £170 million building the media machine putting Reform in your living room every night.
Today the Guardian exposed them and what they expect in return. This is a political project funded from the top.

How meningitis rash looks on Black skin 👇🏾
Take note because there is no mention of how it presents itself on Black people.
moth🩸@vermincrawlls
@MsRade92 these are some of the visuals i've managed to find that show how it presents - it can be much less obvious and easier to overlook. please be safe everyone <3

@DaveHays316529 @tag4UK There are very few council run care homes. This is the private sector, charging an arm and a leg for substandard care. Profit before people.

8pm handover, a new shift has begun.
All around the country, elderly residents are being shoved into bed, some will ask if they can stay up for a bit, many will be told no.
Some will spend the night in the same clothes they have worn all day; they’ll be double padded so they don’t need to be changed through the night.
Sensor mats will be pulled out so they don’t alarm, doors will be closed.
By 11pm, more than half of the staff looking after your family member will be asleep in the lounge.

As Richard Tice goes on a national tour of whataboutery, let us pause and think of all those times he screamed and screamed and screamed for resignations when someone so much as coughed in the wrong direction regarding their taxes. The man's a hypocrite plain and simple.

There is no mention here of rashes in the armpit or groin. They were the only rashes with my son. I only found that out after he had died, by looking at his body.

@funmitor_ @Charlygotyou You definitely don’t need any, lovely as you are ❤️
English

@Charlygotyou This is me at church today. I just think I’m naturally pretty without it. Plus, the stress of applying makeup isn’t just for me

English

@Charlygotyou Yes it’s called not giving a shit. It happens when you get older ☺️
