This makes me so angry. This is Gift Oladele. He is a Nigerian national who should not have been in the UK when this horrible attack took place. Now a young woman’s life has been changed forever because the government/courts did not do its job and deport him. A 19 year old girl was walking home on September 7, 2025 in Wrexham, Wales. Oladele insisted on walking with her, claiming he was going the same way. She did not want to but he would not go away. When they arrived in an isolated place he dragged her into the woods and violently raped her. He threatened her with a rock and said “this will teach you a lesson not to trust strangers”. Little did she know that Odalele had already been sentenced to two years in prison in December 2022 for the false imprisonment of another woman and, at the time of the rape, was on bail for another offence. After his first prison sentence, the Home Office ordered his deportation to Nigeria in January 2023. However he appealed and the court ruled that removing him would violate Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which protects the right to respect for private and family life Judge Simpson concluded that Oldale’s rehabilitation was more important than the impact he might have on the British population. Today, he was sentenced to 25 years for the rape of 19 year old, including 17 years in prison and 8 years on licence. So, a young girl’s life has been ruined, the taxpayer is footing the bill for his 17 years in prison and even then he is unlikely to be deported. What has been done to our country?
