I traveled to Asia for the first time, and spent 1 month in Vietnam, Da Nang 🌏🇻🇳
Here's my honest feedback of this trip 👇
People
Probably the first thing I noticed, before traffic or anything else, was how people greet you (except for the airport, because it looked a bit scary at passport control with all the red warning signs lol).
Vietnamese people are incredibly nice, kind, and smiling most of the time. It feels like they're just truly happy and want to share that with you.
Food
I don't think there was even one time in a month when we went somewhere and we did not like it.
Food is incredible!
Perhaps Pho Bo wasn't my favorite, the traditional one, but overall, Da Nang offered great food experiences. Vietnamese, Asian overall, European cuisine, everything tasted really good.
I have so many places saved on the map!
Prices
We rented a decent apartment in an expat neighborhood in Da Nang, and it cost around $500/month.
You can easily eat on $10 (for 2!).
As a woman, I kept up my beauty routine, and I was surprised how affordable it is to look good in Vietnam (nails, laser, beautician, etc.).
I even had my first hospital experience there (just for a checkup). It went well and was super cheap compared to Europe.
Traffic and pollution
I cannot forget about these two things, as it was a bit wild for me, especially for the first few days.
Even when leaving Vietnam, I was still scared to cross the road as I used to. Pretty much nobody stops, and if you don't learn how to 'go with the flow' and just let bikes/scooters pass you, you're cooked, my friend :)
The air was also pretty polluted most of the time. Once I even didn't feel well because of that and the heat combined (when we wanted to watch fireworks in Da Nang).
Even the fact that the city is by the sea didn't help much.
Also, in many areas the city looked really dirty (I just wish the government did something about that, because the nature is beautiful, people are amazing, and it would look so much better if it was clean and neat).
Hoi An, for example, was more peaceful, with less pollution and traffic.
Next time I would rather stay there and go to Da Nang if I really needed to (a taxi from Da Nang to Hoi An was around $11-13, so it's really affordable for such a distance).
Digital nomad experience overall
Vietnam seems like a great place for digital nomads, with a huge variety of coffee places, coworking spaces, and things to do.
Plus, I'm so happy we visited famous Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge, the French Village.
Yes, we paid $100, which is expensive for Vietnam, but it was a WOW-pass, and it was totally worth it!
If I had to lock in there for some time, that'd be possible even despite some downsides.
Overall, it was a great experience, and I'm happy to be able to explore Asia for the first time.
Now I'm in Chiang Mai, Thailand 🇹🇭, and I'll be happy to share these experiences with you as well!
Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below, and follow my digital nomad journey 🫶

I’m sitting in the airport and waiting for my 12-hour flight to Vietnam.
This is going to be the most transformational trip of my life.
In 30 days I’m either gonna have a successful SaaS or…
There is no OR!
As I’ll lock in with my co-founder and a bunch of successful founders in one villa to build some cool sh*t!
Da Nang, I'm COMING!

Ethereum will become the global settlement layer.
There will be a future in which @nvidia uses Ethereum.
Yes read that again, and you will understand that $ETH is heavily mispriced at the moment…
