Dear Gen Z, your mission is to protect the progress we've made. Further advancements of this nature are anticipated in the near future. We are no longer willing to plead for these changes.
Museveni: “I want to thank Mama, the Minister of Education and Sports, for doing an excellent job, and the family of the late Rujumba for providing us with the land on which Hoima City Stadium now stands.”
Akwata empola, atuuka wala. Bugu-bugu, ssi muliro. I welcome the doubters of our revolutionary methods to Hoima, to Lira, and to different corners of Uganda to see for themselves the results and opportunities being created. Recently, I heard that the electric buses manufactured by Kira EV travelled by road all the way to South Africa and have already secured an initial order of 450 units. This is precisely the kind of progress we have been talking about.
Such developments, together with the commissioning of Hoima City Stadium one of the ten facilities Uganda is putting in place as we prepare to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2027 alongside Kenya and Tanzania, are moments of great pride for our country.
I join Maama Janet to congratulate the Turkish company Summa for the good work done. We shall continue to work together and do even more.
I thank you and wish you a Merry Christmas.
Selim Bora (Chairman SUMMA Construction): “The Five Star Hoima City Stadium was designed, constructed & delivered in just 12 months, a record by International standards.”

If trade channels within Africa were opened—just like in the European Union—the continent would grow a hundredfold in strength. It’s time to prioritize intra-African trade and unlock the immense potential within.
African countries are constantly seeking investors from all over the world and trying to export their products to distant markets. Yet, the African continent is more than capable of sustaining itself.
As soon as I got back, I called Uganda Airlines to inquire about air cargo services, and they told me flights are available four times a week. The people I plan to send the products to in Zimbabwe are ready to receive them. But then I learned that importing these items is banned!
On my first day, I visited local markets to see what’s available and explore trade opportunities. That’s when I saw the pineapples—tiny, the size of apples, and as sour as lemons. I looked for passion fruit, but there was none. And the list goes on.
By the way, I wonder—did the Ugandan ambassador in Zimbabwe not notice the fruits that are available in Uganda but missing in Zimbabwe? Did it never occur to them to think, “How can we bring these here?”
