@KateGarnerMusic Watching you play this style always reminds me of my Grandad playing (he would be 102 now!) He always had that left hand moving

@MichaelRosenYes @OpenUni_RfP @jonnybid I am a Speech & Language Therapist. I did a boot sale to raise over £100 to buy books for the book corner in the speech and language facility class that I worked in. Some of your books were included! The children loved choosing picture books to borrow and take home for bedtime

Michael Rosen 💙💙🎓🎓 NICE 爷爷
If someone were to do an audit of Nursery, Reception and Year 1 classrooms in state schools in England, to see how many ordinary picture books (not part of reading schemes) there are, in those classrooms, what would the audit find, do you think? @OpenUni_RfP @jonnybid

@Renmakesmusic so according to my Spotify wrapped for the year, you were the no. 1 artist I listened to! Not bad for only discovering you part way through the year :)

@KateGarnerMusic @TalkingPicsTV Love this! My grandad played like this and growing up he always liked to show me videos of other pianists like Fats Waller. My grandad even played ‘Happy Birthday’ like this 🎈 🎹

@JeanGrossCBE you just popped up in my news feed. It reminded me that in 2011 you visited me at a specialist language facility & liked my language groups. I now have a research question on group intervention for children with language disorder for a uni course! Next step: masters

@MichaelRosenYes My 9yo is named after a famous 19th century engineer (turns out it’s also the name of a Wetherspoons in Portsmouth!) but no one has ever heard his name. His middle name is Michael but it helps that his dad and my brother are also called Michael ☺️

Spent the morning delivering training to a special school on up to date ND affirming practice. So much to cover. That’s one way to mark 21 years in the job, in the same place I started! @RCSLT #MySLTDay

@_MissingTheMark I’m worried about whether my 9yo will make it in on Thursday and Friday….. then the next week. I’m delivering INSET training to a special school tomorrow on ND affirming approaches. Also taking ‘Can’t not won’t…’ and ‘The family experience of PDA’ to share with the staff!

For those families who are anxious and worried for their children and the return to school this week remember there are lots of us out there who do understand. Listen to your instinct and do what is best for your family.x
Bridget Phillipson@bphillipsonMP

I make no apologies for saying the best place for children is in school. The Tories tinkered around the edges of a generational challenge. Labour are gripping it. This week must be back-to-school week, not just for some children, but for all children. thetimes.com/uk/politics/ar…

@EPonSea @PaulGarvey4 Interested to see the results! I’m a Speech & Language Therapist and parent of a child with SEND. I write reports for EHCPs etc. It’s really changed my outlook, and hopefully made me a better therapist

@Claire_SLT I learnt more in your first year than in my 4 yrs at uni. Don’t beat yourself up and if you need to ask, ask. Better sooner rather than later. Go to Occ Health for advice on reasonable adjustments. You’re doing a great job. Do fun stuff out of work (don’t work/eat/sleep/repeat)

@Claire_SLT Stick to your boundaries - you want to do well/want to please but don’t take on too much! Stick to your contracted hours (even though you want to do lots of reading around in your own time, sets limits), make sure you have adequate work-life balance - it’s important.

@lifeatthenest At primary school I called my male teachers ‘sir’ eg when answering the register. 35 years later, I work with my old Yr 4 teacher in a secondary special school…. I still call him ‘sir’, and the other teachers also refer to each other as ‘Sir’ and ‘Miss’

Made me realise what a different world primary and secondary are when, today, I had a meeting with a teacher at the high school and whilst walking down a corridor he met a colleague. They had a conversation where they called each other “Sir”. There were no pupils around. It was…

Some were challenged by today’s 🌈Full Rainbow word … it’s American in origin, but is in the English dictionary… Will tomorrow’s word be one that’s more universally recognised? Probably. Test yourself with today’s word in the next 15 minutes. Good luck! rainbow.co.uk

@sophtheslt Assessment of Comprehension and Expression (ACE 6-11) has Narrative Propositions and Narrative Syntax/Discourse subtests. I like Peter and the Cat by Black Sheep Press @BSPLtd . The ERRNI is standardised. I used BSP sequencing pics informally

My new favourite book! I can’t believe I haven’t found it before as I loved ‘Can’t not won’t….’ It’s just like reading about our household. I need to share it with family members to help them understand too! Thanks @_MissingTheMark
