I am so excited to announce that I have decided to commit to play basketball at William and Mary! I wouldn’t have been able to have this opportunity without all of my coaches, my family, my friends, and my teammates. Go Tribe! 💚💛

Washington DC girls basketball, widely known for a style of play that to put it kindly often emphasizes one-on-one athletism and attacking the paint, also has a nice collection of bullseye shooters from beyond the arc that proove to be a super valuable commodity to go along with this style of play. Top shooters in the Washington DC area for the 2023-24 season include: Desirae Ashton @Desirae_2024 is a 6'1 senior combo for Bishop Ireton @BishopIretonWBB that is a top shooter from both the mid range out to 3 point range with speed to get up and down the floor. Ashton is headed for Bucknell @Bucknell_WBB next season after playing for Team Durant @teamdurantgirls last Summer Crystal Hardy is a 2025 5'9" shooting guard that plays for Shabach @ShabachGirlsBB and can stretch defenses in Sam Caldwell's uptempo style of play. She plays for the Lady Tigers @Ladytigers2 on the AAU circuit. Claire Matthews @claire4hoops is a senior shooting guard that plays for Maret @MARETGIRLSBBALL. Matthews is a high level threat from the 3-point line and beyond. She played for GLP @GLP_Basketball on the AAU circuit and has committed to Brandeis @BrandeisWBB for next season. Ava O'Neil @theavaoneil is a combo shooting guard that is able to stretch the floor at St Johns @SJCHSBBALL and is headed to Gettysburg @GburgWBB next season. O'Neil played for Takeover @TeamTakeoverGBB on the Summer circuit Emma West @emmaw124 is a senior point guard for Georgetown Visitation @VisitationBball and another of the areas best shooters. West is higly effective off the dribble into a pullup in the lane as well as knocking down the 3. West has committed to William and Mary @WMTribeWBB for next season after playing for Elevate Eilite @Elevate_Elite on the Summer circuit. Anya Rahman @AnyaRahman4 is a 2025 shooting guard that plays for Langley @langleysports. Rahman is one of the top shooters in Virginia on the public school circuit, and can find her shot even against defenses that have scouted her out. She played for PV Thunder @PVThunder_ on the AAU Circuit. Tag a shooter below that is going to have a big 2023 season. We will come watch a game!

Emma West scored 23 points & Fadima Tall scored 22 to lead the Cubs to a 69-54 road win over Holy Child. Toby Nweke battled early foul trouble to add 14 points. Fadima hit the boards for 11 rebounds to post a double-double. 💚💛

Visitation was 21/24 from the line in the game. Emma West had 4 steals and a big👌 in OT to give the Cubs a chance.

Visitation defeated Life Center Academy 78-61 @ the SJC Holiday Hoopla as Emma West scored 33 points on 11/13 shooting, including 7/7 from👌. Toby Nweke finished with 19 points, 5 boards & 3 assists and Fadima Tall and Maria Alvarado had excellent floor games. See 🔽 for details.

Visitation brings home a 58-38 win over the Dalton School at the @SheGotGame7 with a great team effort led by Emma West with 17 points and Simone Lewis with 10. A bunch of Cubs got into the act as Fadima Tall added 9, Ava Wu scored 7 and Sophia Spizuoco 6.
