The Supreme Court has ruled unanimously that only people who are born female should be protected from discrimination as a woman under the Equality Act. It says much about the absurdities of our age that such a common sense statement should be regarded as a landmark ruling — or had to be taken all the way to the SC.

After much delay and deliberation @WorldRowing has voted by 88% to protect the female category. The World Rowing Congress at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland, was attended by 62 nations who debated the matter at considerable length. WRN is pleased that the word gender has been replaced by the word sex in the new rules. Thank you to @BritishRowing chairman @markxdavies who steered the proposal for changing the eligibility criteria based on sex. We hope that other sports will follow.

@StevoLaughton @GreenPartyJack It is in fact unlawful to discriminate against females like this - the law says if there is an unfair performance advantage through being male, then the sexes should be separated, – we are not talking about gender here we are talking about sex – male and female – X & Y chromosome

@GreenPartyJack Any person with a Y-chromosome has an unfair sporting advantage over any person without. If u want participation alone then don’t give out course records - if there is a female record then anyone with a Y-chromosome should not be eligible .

@GreenPartyJack Precisely - actually its 0.1% of the population is trans - 1 in 100, if you want to say 1 in 50 - go for it - it is still a tiny proportion …. so why do we let the 0.1 or 0.2% dictate. 3 records held by 3 trans-women means by proportion 150 or more like 300 females lose out

POLL If males who considered themselves to be women were not permitted to use women-only facilities (toilets, changing rooms, shower facilities, etc.), be placed in women-only prisons or hospital wards, play on women's sports teams, compel our use of their preferred pronouns or our assent to other metaphysical beliefs, such as that transwomen are women, and where gender ideology was not present in schools--in short, if gender ideology was rejected as a social and legal matter, would you care if males dressed in a stereotypically feminine way to the point where you'd shame them, mock them to their faces, etc.?

Just so we’re clear as a little muddled yesterday. The 60 friends I contacted over a weekend ALL signed a letter to the IOC asking for fair sport for females & that the science be used. Which in 2015 it wasn’t. Now it is. Of that 60 household names only 5 have spoken out but when polls are done 80-95% vote to protect female sport for biological females. And of course want ALL (as I do) included in sport where it is a fair competition. Sport must offer equal opportunities for both sexes not just males. The dreams of young girls matter too & Women are no less worthy
