Imagine going to Nairobi from Embu. You get to Mwea town where a woman asks you if you're headed for Nairobi. She's willing to pay kshs 400 to Nairobi. Remember this is your private vehicle. You feel the 400 can buy you tea or fuel, so let's do it. She gets into the car and off you go. On reaching Nairobi, you ask for the 400 and she tells you 'nipatie 10k yangu!' Imagine that. From the blue! You try to talk and she asks "unataka nipige nduru?" You are in CBD. She's already trying to create noise inside the car. She threatens to shout that you've slept with her and now you are refusing to pay her 10k as agreed. Knowing Nairobi, guy decided to channel the money. From what the guy told me, this lady had connections in town. It seemed this is something she has done before. Imagine getting beaten in the middle of Nairobi for such a thing. Even if you tell your wife the lady is lying, convincing her will be an uphill task. Someone is currently in prison for a related case. This one decided to lock the doors, drive out of town. He beat the lady up till she got unconscious. Crime? Abduction, assault with intent to kill. When you get to court, gentlemen, that's when you realise the law has a gender especially when the complainant is a woman. You will know the law is female. It has a pusssssyyyy!

I know it hurts a lot, but the truth is : Fuel isn’t “free money.” Cheaper fuel means less levy revenue for roads. Kenya has 164,967 km of roads, 15.1% paved (24,868 km); Uganda has 146,000 km, 4.4% paved (6,466 km); Tanzania has 181,000 km, 8% paved (15,000 km). Kenya uses a fuel/roads levy, and cheaper fuel still means less road funding unless the gap is covered elsewhere. The choice is simple: lower taxes and cheaper fuel with slower road development, or higher levies and stronger road expansion. The opposition should stop turning every fuel conversation into cheap politics and blaming Ruto for everything.

It’s virtually impossible to cut fuel taxes maybe only VAT, and even then, just temporarily. We need that revenue to fund the roads we keep demanding from the President. Pundits like Riggy G, stuck in tribal politics, can’t fathom what it takes to lead a country. I feel for President Ruto.

'I met her when she was 6 months pregnant. She told me the baby's father was married & he dumped her when she refused to terminate the pregnancy. I took care of her until she gave birth. I paid thousands for her to give birth at a private hospital, cause there were complications. I even had to borrow more money from people cause what I had at the moment wasn't enough, as we had emergencies twice. The first was for her to give birth when complications occurred. Normally, I was prepared for that one, just in case, but what I wasn't prepared for was the one where we needed to save the baby. I rushed around & borrowed from good friends again. I paid that debt gradually for almost 8 months since my provision shop business hadn't been doing well. She has been staying with me ever since then & I take care of her & the baby. Since her grandmother, whom she lived with, isn't that strong & vibrant anymore & she's an orphan, I thought it wise to have her come to my place. My plan was to save enough money so we could open a small tomato business for her in order for her to start earning something & helping herself & the child, while I saved up for her bride price so we could start building our lives together. The baby is now one & a half years old. & Every weekend i try as much as possible to take us to a shoprite or any nice restaurant to have fun even though i make very little from my business but i do just to please her so she catches fun. Now, out of the blue, the baby's father wants to be part of the baby's life. I was not comfortable with it, but I understand he's the father. But shockingly, last month she told me she still loves the guy & she's leaving me for him. Even before telling me this, she's been seeing him, & worse, she's currently carrying a second child for him, even though she's been very protective & avoiding me getting her pregnant. I've knelt, I've cried, I've pleaded for her to stay with me. I love this girl so much. I believe we all make mistakes cuz no one is perfect. I was willing to forgive her & accept the second child as mine without the biological father knowing of its existence, but she had told him about the pregnancy already even before she told me. Basically, she dumped me—a guy who took care of her and was busy saving money for bride price to be a side chick again to someone who dumped her when she needed him the most, cuz the guy has promised her marriage. I don't want to lie, I'm more disappointed than hurt. We made so many plans for the future & I was looking forward to spending the rest of my life with her. I'm 38 years old. At this stage, I doubt I'll ever be with another woman.'

They then tell you that those things you just bought are now the property of Kenya Power. They then charge you a fee to come and connect you to the grid. Then they make you wait for months. When you think they're done, just like major, they hit you with another banger: they randomly switch off power and don't shout at them. It must be nice 😊.
