The Anxious Generation was published two years ago today, in a very different world. Back then, the most common objection I got was resignation: "The train has left the station." "You can't put toothpaste back in the tube." "It's how the kids connect today." Today, the world looks very different. It turns out that if our kids were all on a train and we learned it was heading toward a collapsed bridge, we'd find a way to stop it and bring them safely back to the station. That’s what’s happening now. After the historic verdicts in Los Angeles and New Mexico, today is a great day to reflect on the capacity of people in democratic societies to take action, even when opposing some of the most powerful corporations in history. We're getting access to the courts. We're getting phone-free schools. We're seeing whole neighborhoods letting kids out to play, unsupervised, which is what we older folk all remember as the best part of childhood. So I want to recognize: --The mothers (and, right behind them, fathers) who rose up by the millions and powered the movement. --The farsighted governors and legislators in red states and blue states who have been innovating on policy solutions. --The leaders of a dozen of nations, who are raising the age to 16 for opening social media accounts (with a special shoutout to Australia, for going first). --The teachers and school administrators who had their classrooms disrupted for 15 years, and who are now eager to think through new solutions as screens have taken over and obstructed learning. --The grassroots organizations who have been dedicating their efforts to advocate for all of the above in their local communities. --The millions of members of Gen Z who have been rising up, demanding agency over how they spend their lives in the digital era, and finding better ways to connect in real life. And one final group: the survivor parents--the ones you saw in those pictures of people embracing on the front steps of the LA courthouse. I have met many over the years. I am in awe of their courage and tenacity, their willingness to tell their stories of loss, over and over again, to different audiences, in the hope that no other parent would have to endure what they have endured. At long last, juries and legislatures are hearing you, and are acting. Together, we are calling the train back to the station. Together, we are rolling back the phone based childhood and reclaiming life in the real world. The work continues. If you’re not already involved, join us: anxiousgeneration.com/join

Alex's first-of-its-kind accomplishment is a timely reminder that we humans are capable of unimaginable things. AI progress is challenging our ideas of reality, creating a massive fear response that results in many feeling paralyzed. Alex triumphed because he's trained his brain to silence fear. fMRI of his neural activity show a silent amygdala. Achieving what you want in life can be done with a similar shift in neural architecture. What could you accomplish by overcoming default patterns such as silencing fear? As a species, what if instead of destroying our enemies, we destroyed the concept of enemies. What could we then climb together? That may seem impossible of humans, but as Alex shows, the risk is shorting our potential to change beyond our imaginations.

The most creative people I know experience a strange kind of creative exhaustion during periods of intense political turmoil that is different than what most people feel. It’s like a heavy static noise that blocks their usually heightened abilities of perception. My working theory is that elite-level creatives have highly tuned defense mechanisms against “groupthink.” But high political/culture war tensions in the zeitgeist place intense groupthink demands on everyone. So the groupthink anti-virus program that runs in the background of elite-level creatives has to run harder than usual to resist succumbing to the virus. If they give in, they gain immediate group acceptance but it costs them their unique superpower. If you’re feeling that, let me just encourage you: Do not give in.

The Boring Company is quietly expanding the futuristic Vegas Loop underground. Vegas Loop already feels like a cheat code: Hop into a Tesla (or Cybertruck) underground and bypass the chaos of surface traffic. As of December 2025: - 8 stations live (LVCC campus + Resorts World, Westgate, Encore) - ~3.5 miles of operational tunnels linking the Convention Center to nearby resorts - 3M+ rides completed, boosted by major events like SEMA & Cowboy Christmas - Turns 30–45 min surface trips into fast 2–8 min tunnel rides - Free rides within LVCC, ~$5–10 for resort connections - Cybertrucks deployed on routes like LVCC ↔️ Encore - Full Self-Driving testing underway — driverless rides coming soon And this is just the beginning. @boringcompany is approved for 68 miles of tunnels and 104 stations, connecting: ✈️ Airport (Phase 1 targeting Q1 2026) 🏙️ Downtown 🏟️ Allegiant Stadium 🎓 UNLV — and more At full build-out, the system targets 2–8 min rides and up to ~90,000 passengers per hour using a dense, autonomous EV network. This isn’t just congestion relief — it’s the future of smarter, greener urban transport. 🌍

Elon on JRE just dropped the most brutal red-pill on why Reddit & old Twitter went insane: “San Francisco is the woke Kool-Aid aquarium. You don’t drink the Kool-Aid — you swim in it. From there, actual centrists look like Nazis.” He explains how a 20-mile extremist bubble in SF/Berkeley sat on top of the world’s most powerful information weapons (social media) and hijacked them to beam far-left ideology to every phone on Earth. Rogan: “Obama & Hillary’s 2008 immigration speeches sound like Marjorie Taylor Greene today — deport criminals, huge fines, back of the line.” Musk: “The left moved so far left they now need a telescope to see the center.” Then they drop the UK nuke: 12,000 people arrested this year for social media posts. “They literally jail you for memes.” This 6:25 clip is mandatory watching if you want to understand how we got here. Is the Overton window completely broken, or are Elon & Joe onto something? Drop your take below — no filter needed.

I’ve never told this story before publicly but, I used to be a journalist covering human trafficking on the US Mexico border. I’ve crossed the border illegally covering migrants and cartels countless times. I saw young women in the morgue after they were raped and brutalized in Juarez. I saw a man get stabbed by a coyote in the gut, a terrible way to die. I know the sound a human makes when it happens. I knew a kid Neftali Fuentes who crossed 100+ times helping others not die in the desert across Arizona. I’ve seen cartel wars play out on the streets of Juarez, bodies dangling from over passes. I’ve been held at gun and knife point before. Those who say open borders are humane have no idea what they’re talking about. You live in an air conditioned suburb that might as well be an ivory tower. Do not tell me what we do now is virtuous, it is cowardice. I hope we do what is right which is secure the border, stop criminals from profiting off of misery and help support local governments to be better like El Salvador. If you don’t understand this, yet you’ve never been to the border, never spoken to border patrol, never seen the many crosses in the dessert maybe get down off your high horse and try to understand… or sit this one out.

Big Ag is misunderstanding what MAHA policies mean for farming. The next four years can go down in history books as the start of a golden age for American farming. When everyone agrees the current Ag subsidy system is a dumpster fire that’s not serving farmers or children or any other stakeholder, there’s an opportunity to come together to forge new agriculture policies that incentivize the thriving of American farmers. We’re the agricultural power of the world, but 20 percent of our children are malnourished. Our soil is depleted, our food is less nutrient-dense, we’ve obviously lost our way when it comes to dependence on ultra-processed food and the thousands of ingredients that are being phased out of every other country. Everyone agrees behind closed doors that we need to look at the pesticides and herbicides we use on our food. Everyone agrees there’s too many chemicals and food dyes. We have an obesity crisis, and there’s a bill to send $1 trillion a year to a Denmark pharmaceutical company to prescribe Ozempic instead of invest in American farmers. Bobby Kennedy and Donald Trump talked during the campaign about putting American farmers at the center of health. President Trump obviously needs to decide on specific policies. But I believe Big Ag misreads the vibe of messaging during the campaign. All discussion was about supporting American farmers and fixing bad incentives. There is an opportunity for stakeholders in ag to convene on reforms to a system we all agree isn’t fully working. To strategize on achieving on goal that we can achieve quickly: Ensuring Americans eat the most nutritious, highest quality food in the world.

Ok, gonna try to be a good contrarian and instead of dunking share sth I disagree with about the ideological package that just won. I’m anti-woke, but I think sth anti-woke people are very wrong about is seeing trans (and rise of LGB) as a cultural fad caused by far-left marxists. While I agree there is some of that, IMO there is a strong biological component.
