@enochbowens @VALC_6 Nomads always felt to me like they're more of a fantasy of escaping civilisation rather than an attempt at real culture. Sort of a modern version of the american frontier myth, that has to reckon with the fact that the railroad (corps) will catch up to their "simple way of life"

I think of New Vegas in the same way some would consider a "great American novel." I think its themes and connection to the American spirit are that integral.

I think people take Benny for granted in New Vegas. Sure, he's the guy that shoots you in the head and gets the whole ball rolling - but he's pivotal from so many thematic angles too. I've always loved how Benny represents New Vegas. As a former tribal, he's obsessed with the new façade. His persona being based on Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel with a little bit of Frank Sinatra. He's the future that Mr. House always envisioned, a remade man. The fake dream of New Vegas personified. Interestingly, just like New Vegas itself - you get to decide his fate. I think Benny serves as a design linchpin for the player experience. It doesn't hurt that Matthew Perry delivers a laidback, almost lackadaisical delivery that doesn't hurt Benny at all, but makes him all the more engaging. Art by @_deimos_art
