@ColinTCrypto as a block producer can I ask if anything can be done if an original #EOS account has been compromised or reset illegally?

@bytemaster7 The key value experiments are great and will allow adding/removing indexes in the future. We haven’t seen any plans for migration functions, the two recommendation 1. Create new table 2. Binary extensions are not robust enough

@eoscafeblock I agree and it’s something we are looking into. We have great things coming.

Any databases that wish to evolve to #blockchain level security would need to become programmable, deterministic, and directly manage end user accounts. Stored procedures are a far cry from smart contracts. Separating business logic from database integrity is broken badly.

@bytemaster7 Adding/removing indexes, plus setting up something like migration functions for schema changes would make a world of a difference for developer experience in production

In theory #eosio could be built on any key/value database. In practice I haven’t found one with higher performance. We are working to make querying blockchain state as scalable and easy as sql/mongo.

@VitalikButerin The greater question is how does the majority of network tokens being in the hands of custodial services such as exchanges impact the security model of PoS chains?

@VitalikButerin The infrastructure is not being shared between those producers, the controlling entity is the same.

Honestly I think EOS should adopt sharding and assign each block producer to a random shard so that there are little-to-no gains from two validators sharing infrastructure as they'd have different data to validate. Would increase their TPS too. cointelegraph.com/news/eos-block…
