India has expanded its network of Free Trade Agreements to nine FTAs spanning 38 countries, strengthening its global trade engagement. Recent milestones include India–UAE CEPA, India–Australia ECTA, India–EFTA TEPA (in force from October 2025), India–UK CETA and India–Oman CEPA, along with the India–New Zealand FTA and India–EU FTA announced in 2026. These agreements enhance market access and create new opportunities for Indian businesses, farmers and professionals. India’s textile sector has always been a symbol of sustainability, innovation, and circularity. I am pleased to release the Report on Mapping of Textile Waste Value Chain in India, which provides important insights into how India can further strengthen its circular textile economy. The report highlights that India generates 70.73 lakh tonnes of textile waste annually, with over 95% of pre-consumer waste already being recovered. The spinning sector has demonstrated remarkable efficiency with near 100% in-situ reintegration of waste into production. With increasing focus on sustainability, recycling, and responsible production, India’s textile recycling market is projected to reach USD 3.5 billion by 2030, with the potential to create nearly 1 lakh green jobs across the value chain. #Textiles #CircularEconomy #Sustainability
