@DrNeilStone There is a whole generation of politicians and advocates that haven’t realized it is not the 1960s anymore and a whole generation of the illiberal left using them to pursue their agenda

Statement: Israeli authorities have kept Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem closed to Palestinian worshippers for the twelfth consecutive day during the final days of Ramadan, an act that amounts to collective punishment and represents the most severe restriction imposed on the holy site ever and since the beginning of the Israeli military occupation in 1967.

@Frances_Coppola @almmura When hezbollah joined the war in 2024- northern israel was evacuated. They went to hotels (for free), friends, Relatives. The question is why do these lebanese have nowhere to go? Because no one wants to touch anyone remotely sympathetic to hizbulla- the lebanese had enough.

If three-quarters of a million Israeli civilians had been driven out of their homes by Lebanon's army and left with nowhere to go, this would be headline news in every Western media outlet. But when the Israeli army does this to Lebanese civilians? Crickets.

A child sleeping on Beirut's corniche, one among 700,000 (registered) displaced. Israel is scaling up its illegal invasion. Displacement will increase. And no state, no matter its wealth, could cope with such massive displacement. Forced displacement is a war crime.

My latest: The Iran Question Is All About China Why Operation Epic Fury Is the Opening Act of the Indo-Pacific Century The Iran question was never about Iran. Remove the Islamic Republic from the equation and China loses its pawns for a Taiwan contingency. Leave it in place and the Middle East remains what Beijing designed it to be: a second front that Washington can never afford to leave and can never afford to stay in. Trump's strikes are the first move by an American president who appears to understand that the road to the Pacific runs through Tehran. zinebriboua.com/p/the-iran-que…

@lampos We in Israel care very much about iran’s nuclear weapons ajd the fact that Iran started lobbing balistic missiles at us a year ago while continuously threatening to erase us from the map, installing a clock on a central square in tehran with a countdown to our destruction…

It’s crystal clear that the USA wants to control Iran’s resources. They don’t care about human rights, nuclear weapons or its people. They joined forces with (another) war criminal to achieve their goals of “death and destruction”, and economic dominance through exploitation.

By the way if you've noticed far less Gaza propaganda in your feed it's not because Iran knocked Gaza off the front page. It's because Iran is what kept it there. Now that their cyber command has been smashed, so too has a global propaganda exercise.

@arash_tehran I want to live in a world where the communist party of Israel and the communist party of Iran can freely put out irrelevant joint statements based on an ideology that failed miserably half a century ago. I’d even love to see a joint conference in Tel Aviv or Tehran. Dead serious

So many of those who loudly condemned the killing of Palestinian civilians by Israel’s indiscriminate bombs now seem perfectly comfortable with the indiscriminate killing of civilians by the Islamic Republic of Iran. Civilian lives are not selective. If killing civilians is wrong, it is wrong—no matter who does it, no matter the flag, no matter the excuse. Moral principles do not change depending on who launches the missiles.

Back in school, whenever people found out that I was Kurdish, the atmosphere would change. At the time, I didn’t openly say that I had a Yazidi background because I was afraid of harassment. Instead, they mocked me. They called us “mountain people,” “hillbillies,” as if it were something shameful. What they didn’t know is that I am proud to be a child of the mountains. My heart belongs to the mountains. When I was in the mountains in Austria, I cried because I knew I would have to return to the flatlands. The mountains — no matter where they are — are a part of me.

What we are seeing is NOT "the disintegration of the international rules-based order", but a long overdue correction to make current rule-based order more compatible with our commonsensical, morality-based order; the former should serve the latter, not the other way around. @KMooreGilbert @havivrettiggur
Judea Pearl@yudapearl

Are you saying that preservation of international rules-based order entails immunity to the enemies of international rules-based order? Karl Popper identified this "tolerance paradox" as the Achilles Heel of democracy -- not again! @havivrettiggur @DavidDeutschOxf @ConjectureInst @EinatWilf
