Had the government just got rid of negative gearing on property (which in itself is a significantly blunt instrument), would have likely been politically popular whilst at the same time allowed investors to dive into productive assets across the economy.

The pressure on Albo continues. Comm Bank chief executive has said limit CGT changes to real estate only. I agree. Productive businesses should not be a target. We don’t need to wait around to find out what happens when productivity is disincentivised. #auspol

One Nation supports negative gearing being allowed on 2 homes for everyone. The Labor government claims to be helping the younger generation, yet they’re taking away an investment strategy that has been used by generations before them. We completely oppose the changes to CGT.

The prime minister is trying to recast the narrative, framing his changes as pro-aspiration and supply, so his government can help people get into a home of their own. ebx.sh/t1RzNK

People in that age bracket got sideswiped by multiple global economic shocks that smashed employment and wages. For a low wage earner you had a narrow window to buy with low rates, if you had some savings, no family, ect. That time is passed. Now the lifelong welfare baby PM is ridiculing those people

According to @AlboMP, if you don’t own your own home at 40, it’s because you’re a failure. Just a thought though Prime Minister ……. it might be because they haven’t been sucking off the public teet their entire lives. Maybe they have to work for a living.

That's why investors are getting angrier and angrier; if you have 35% of a portfolio that has lost in real terms, (not beaten inflation) you pay tax under the new system that is 40% higher than the real gain!

Mia Malkova revealed that her mother was an extra in one of her first scenes after going with her to make sure everything was safe but later admitted the experience ended up blurring the boundaries between them as mother and daughter. “As time went on, I realized the boundary between a mom and daughter got blurred after that.”
