$HUM.AX : Proxy Advisors & the EGM afr.com//companies/fin… Proxy advisors have had their say on $HUM.AX I've always thought proxy advisors were a waste of time. I called them up once and got a snotty "our reports are only for our clients" which is a stark paradox for organisations that prattle on about transparency. The fact superannuation funds listen to them is yet another reason to have an SMSF. In relation to $HUM.AX... CGI Glass Lewis claims there is not enough in it to remove the incumbents which is highly indigestible to anybody who has been following the rampant disclosure failures. It will be interesting to see if the Takeover Panel disagrees with them given they were scathing about the disclosure failures of $MYX.AX in their recent written findings. ISS to its credit is more critical, but has decided Jeremy Raper @puppyeh1 doesn't have board experience so that should exclude him. This of course is the ultimate in nepotism because everybody who appears on a board must have at some stage not had board experience. Many of us have profited from Jeremy's understanding of what makes a company valuable. It's unfortunate that these empty sacks have cast an opinion at all. Better if they had just kept quiet rather than opening their mouth's and revealing their ignorance.

Optasia. Interestingly, some Chinese fintech companies that offer roughly the same service (AI-driven credit scoring with telco data 4 unbanked people), mostly in China but also expanding overseas lately, with market caps in billions, trade on 3 PEs.

I just want to make a $1m investment that goes up 100x in 2-3 years. Is that too much to ask?!

@SimonPB If the impact is zero, why do they exist? I was involved with a major foreign investor in SA who disinvested from the country and they cited forex controls as a major reason.

Not wrong about FX controls being stupid .. but also very true is that they impact literally nobody .. SARS/SARB limits are plenty at R11m/year and even above that they allow as SARS taxes on world wide income
