@MattWalshBlog I thought it was very thought provoking, and a great take on losing your humanity to win. It’s an interesting story, and regardless of the casting(it really was bad), it was an entertaining movie. Better than most that Hollywood has come out with post pandemic

Just saw The Odyssey. Despite what you may have heard, literally all of the criticisms by conservatives were entirely correct. The movie is just as woke as you fear, if not more so. The DEI casting is atrocious. Completely takes you out of the story right from the beginning. But even worse than that is Nolan’s decision to turn Odysseus into an anachronistic whiney, solemn shell of a man plagued by “trauma” and guilt. It’s impossible to overlook these flaws because the film itself is not terribly entertaining or well constructed. For the most part it is disjointed, dull, self-serious, disenchanted, somehow feeling both verbose and overly rushed at the same time. The dialogue is some of the worst I’ve ever heard in a “critically acclaimed” film. “On the nose” and “clunky” are descriptions that can’t even begin to describe this script. At no point in the story does Nolan ever transport the audience to the ancient world. You never feel like you’re 3,000 years in the past. You feel like you’re watching modern Americans put on a pageant, because you are. Nobody would be calling this thing a masterpiece if it was made by a director not named Christopher Nolan.

I have not seen The Odyssey yet, so I can’t give my final verdict on it. All I will say is that these “actually the movie isn’t woke” takes from conservatives strike me as implausible. Casting a self-mutilated trans-identifying female as a male warrior is one of the wokest things any mainstream film director has ever done in a movie, by any objective measure. It’s hard to imagine any context that could somehow make that choice not woke.

You ever heard of FSD? It's an order of magnitude safer than the average driver, even on older, less capable, versions of the software. People fall asleep all the time and when that happens, they are guaranteed to be in a major wreck. If she was tired, what would you rather her do? Turn the automation off and try to stay awake? Tired drivers are likely on par with drunk drivers.... In this case, the automation was doing its job. As evident here, it competently drove, understood you were behind her and pulled over itself. You should embrace technology, not find a way to issue a significant ticket for those using it.

The female driver of this Tesla passed a trooper on I-5 at 78mph. The scary thing is that the trooper noticed the driver was asleep!! Thankfully he was able to get the vehicle stopped. The driver was given a Negligent Driving 2nd ticket.
