@ianlandsman Bummer. A similar thing happened to me years ago, I had to cancel a conference speaking session because my gall bladder threw a tantrum at exactly the wrong time. Best wishes, and be well.

I am shocked and distressed to share that I have been renewed as a Microsoft MVP for the 5th year. I mean, what were these people thinking? In terms of MVP stuff, I was SUCH a slacker this year. I guess now I need to turn over a new leaf. 😉 ( Er, thanks #MVPBuzz )

@jonbho Word Zero is currently an iOS app only. The other two are Word Max and Word Box, currently web apps. Lots left to do. :-)

@jonbho Ha. Winnable Solitaire. That's a blast from the past. That was never a terribly serious endeavor. With the current effort we are hoping to build something sustainable. We have 3 games now.

New word game! wordbox.game In the tradition of Wordle, one puzzle each day that can be played in a few minutes. Starting from a box of letters, use the clues and swap pairs of letters until every row and column forms a valid word.

@jonbho By allowing more obscure words like are seen in Scrabble play or crossword puzzles, the number of possible puzzles gets much larger, into the 10s or 100s of thousands.

@jonbho When constrained to very common English words, yes, the solution space is quite constrained. Around 2,600 possible puzzles for the 6x4 size.

@eric_sink Pretty cool, liked the first day, will give it a try. Are there enough word combos that are also words across? Or is this a one/few off? 😅

Me: Crossword board game apps have too much pointless fluff. I'll create "Word Zero". Also me: I wish I could find an excuse to put a physics engine into a word game app.

@csharpfritz But what is the right number of water-skiing squirrels in life? I understand the benefits of going from zero to one, but after that, there’s no obvious place to level off.

Want to try the new game we've been working on? 'Word Max is a daily crossword board game played in the "duplicate" style.' It should work in (most?) any web browser. This is the first public preview. Feedback welcome. wordmax.game
