What’s your thoughts on David Strelec? I think there’s a great player there. But we’re not utilising him properly. He’s not a 9, he needs players around him. I worry it’ll just be one of them “what could have beens.” A move that just wasn’t the right fit for both parties.

I was standing on Ascot Heath for the Clarence House Chase in January when a tired Il Etait Temps and Paul Townend fell right in front of me at the second last. When horses fall I always look for them to get back on their feet quickly and I am always looking for them to continue with the herd and to check that they are sound. Il Etait Temps did not get up quickly. In fact he stayed down for a considerable amount of time. His jockey, Mr Townend stayed with him. The dreaded screens went up and they stayed up for a good 10 minutes. The horse ambulance arrived and the Ascot veterinary team were heavily present. Paul Townend remained with his horse showing considerable care. The longer the situation went on the more I feared the worse for the horse. I thought back to the Cyrname incident at Ascot which gave me some reassurance but I’d begun to give up hope. Paul Townend eventually emerged from behind the screen and I shouted to him asking if his horse was alright. He gave me the thumbs up and he got into a car to take him back to the weighing room. Seconds later the screens came down and Il Etait Temps walked soundly into the horse ambulance. Such a relieve. This horse went on to be a fantastic winner of this year’s Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival a couple of months later. I cannot possibly believe that Paul Townend would knowingly ride out a horse that he knew was injured. It beggars belief to think that anyone would believe that. That day at Ascot his prime concern was for the welfare and wellbeing of his horse and I find it inconceivable that that behaviour would not be a constant in his character and be the same for every horse that he rides.

@PUSB_PUSB Whatever happens we’ve played some good footy under him. Happy to give him a summer and time to bring in players he wants to play the way he wants

Genuinely Boro fans, surely that is Kim Hellberg out? If you don't go up this is one of the worst managerial stints of all time. #PUSB #Boro

There’s 100% a player in Sarmiento btw. Won’t be popular but I reckon he’ll come good next year.

Rory McIlroy said he skipped tournaments leading up to The Masters, & instead, drop his kid at school, take a private jet to Augusta to play a practice round, & then be home for dinner. Why is he allowed to have an unfair advantage? No wonder he’s -12

@Chris_BoroUTB New forward line required. See what Hellberg can do with players he wants. Sarmiento absolutely not!

Total bottle jobs. Strelec, Hansen, Sene. Not a single attacking player we’ve signed this season has been a success. The club then decided to add Sarmiento to the mix, the worst January signing since Iheanacho. Don’t get me started on Conway, runs around with zero substance.

For all those that deem it to now be the ‘Grand National hurdle’, I think the Topham proved it is still a genuine test. I think the modern Grand National is absolutely spot on. A marathon trip and a harder test of jumping than a standard chase, but not unnecessarily dangerous It is incredible to watch old Nationals. The pictures of horses flying onto the landing side of the old Bechers still stir emotion, but it really isn’t fair to ask that of a horse? As a genuine racing fan I accept that there’s risk involved in the sport, but it’s nice to look forward to the race without feeling that the horses are being asked unfair questions (Although I do still honour my tradition of watching the 1977 national every year on the eve of the great race)

@KemiBadenoch @Conservatives I know a number of people who work in the private sector who have condensed there contracted hours into 4 days rather than 5 for the same money and now get Fridays off. Are you going to stop them as well?

I’ll continue to go on about it every week but AGAIN Aidan Morris is fucking exceptional and has looked even better after losing Hackney, if we don’t go up we need to throw everything at keeping him. Remarkable footballer. 🇺🇸

@DaveKent101 Factually incorrect. It was the Conservative government who inflicted that on us not the Civil Service.

The Civil Servant who inflicted the 67 year retirement age on the rest of us gets to retire at 61 on an £85K per year pension. If ever a massive saving could be found, reducing this lot by hundreds of thousands would be a good place to start.

FT 1-1: Last gasp sickener from a cheaply conceded corner as somehow #Boro contrive to throw a routine win away. Plenty of pivotal moments when it could've been wrapped up but Strelec will be getting flashbacks to that missed sitter for a while. #UTB
