As I said the other day, a good DNC Chairman — or any party chairman for that matter — would have sat at his desk, called over 200 major donors and retired the DNC debt in a matter of days. @TerryMcAuliffe could have done it with his eyes closed. @kenmartin73 is deeply incompetent.

This defense of Ken Martin by a DNC member sounds like a member of a dysfunctional ownership group of a persistently under-performing professional sports team that thinks amongst themselves “we’re doing great, everyone else is wrong.”

Every attack by Jentleson, Watts, and all these other regular suspects is more proof that Ken Martin is doing a good job as chair. These people desperately want all the money to go to their consultant friends in bloated districts. It will not go there regardless.

Why is this photo so maddening?
Because it exposes the generational divide in our housing debate. Between those who find a reason to say no - instead of yes - to housing.
Over the last year on the Board of Supervisors, I've seen NIMBYs say no to housing because it's not affordable enough (eventhough it could include nearly 100 affordable units), because it will change neighborhood character (even if its just on an empty parking lot), or because it casts a shadow (serious! though I do have a law to fix that)
We have a deep affordability crisis right now, and younger generations are calling BS now both on NIMBYs who will find any excuse to oppose housing, as wells as on our city's lack of action. We have been doing just the amount necessary to be in compliance with the law, but not the amount sufficient to actually break ground on new housing.
In a 7x7 city, we must build housing wherever we can, faster and bolder, if we are to live up to our values as a progressive San Francisco that can continue to be a home for the immigrants and refugees who seek to move here as much as it can be home for the children and grandchildren who seek to stay.

After ICE shot and killed Lorenzo Araujo, the FBI leaked to Fox News a claim that he was found with possible meth in the van.
His family said it was a total falsehood; it was a bag of salt to be used to make an electrolyte drink. And they were right. It was not drugs.
