@ericlu single frame contains quite a bit of data though, if you throw the right look at it.
density heatmap with thresholding, and this stands out MUCH more in a single frame than I was expecting it to!

Turned my handwriting in to a real font and used it in my designs (spotlight reveal font) 👇🏼
How it works:
- Gemini finds each glyph
- browser cleans the masks, traces them in to vectors.
- opentype.js exports!

I turned my handwriting to a .ttf (aka a real font)! 📝 So far my little app(Handwrite) uses @GoogleAI’s Gemini models so far for image analysis and letter detection, I write down the alphabet, upload a photo of it and it generates the first-pass font. It’s not quite there yet, but next step is the fun one: predicting alphabet from short sentence!

It’s interesting how we number our years based on Jesus’s birth but for some reason the actual day is six days from the end of the year?
Why start the years but not the days based on that event?

the only true way to escape the day to day reality of silicon valley. make your own path and control it the whole way. do whatever you want. goals for sure

By VC standards we should either "conquer the world or die in a fire" and neither of these are spiritually compelling for me. I never wanted a company I just wanted a home. At this point we have a large and loyal paid community, we build tons of features for them (I think we did >30 releases this year) and they're pretty happy. We have enough revenue to fund tons of crazy R&D and our models are still the best by the metrics we care about (how the images look and how fun it is to make things). We have a huge backlog of exciting things to make our models way better. Zero risk. We did all this with no investors. Honestly, it feels like we are successful. The next metric of success I think about most about is now that we have "all I ever wanted" in terms of a big well funded R&D lab with cool people free to work on whatever we want... Can we now build something that would make baby David proud? And can we tell bold stories about a human future that people want to be a part of? I think we can.

I created a font called Gothic Gumdrop that mixes a cute blobby style with blackletter, and submitted it to @googlefonts for review. If it gets accepted, it would be the world's first AI-generated font in Google Fonts. Excited to see what happens from here.
