It's literally the law of causality, literally the reason we have science! Change is the very reason we have science at all. Changes seen round about us are the effects that made the founders of science and philosophy seek causes of. It is because of change that science began, when men wanted to explain how and why those changes/effects occur. It is the purpose of science. And not just natural science, but all of science - theology, or the queen of the sciences, included. When we perform experiments using the scientific method, when we see changes, we don't issume the change came from nothing. No, of course not! Because fundamental to all of science is "ex nihilo nihil fit". Because of that, when we see change, we don't assume the change was its own cause. No! We assume something else caused it. That's because of the laws of contradiction and causality. We know that effects do not cause themselves! And we know that the universe is an effect! Thus, the universe is empirical proof that something exists outside of, apart from, separate from, or transcendent of the universe! What is to be said of the ideas of cause and substantial change given the principles of induction, uniformity, and the conservation of energy which Lucretius points out? The principles of uniformity and conservation (among others) are properties of Being. Another property of Being is causality or the notion of cause among things that change. The notion of cause or the principle of causality, has both philosophic and scientific implications. As demonstrated, Lucretius is interested in exploring the nature of causation in physical reality.

So you don't believe that, as a whole, it is expanding? You don't know that, as a whole, it is growing colder? You don't that each moment is not the same as the moment before? etc. Just one change means it is contingent upon something else for its existence, and I just gave you several, and there are more. So yeah, you deny it and I get why, but you do undeniably know it's been caused.

@ericswheeler There are many ways to do this, but overall (camera movement, player movement, parallax planes, game mechanics), this is the one that felt more intuitive to me!

Did you notice how our world building and parallax effect works? Every time you enter a new path, it teleports you and completely rebuild the path to your next destination. At any point in time, the only things that exists are actually where you are from and where you are going!

@orb_3d The trend started before the AI boom and yeah it’s very lame and uninspired.

I’ve noticed this weird trend in indie games where everything is called something-“bound” or something-“born.” There are so many of them that I’m starting to wonder if chatGPT has been naming half the indie games coming out lol.

I've noticed that I've become a bit hesitant to show the games & tools I'm working on. I'm often afraid that they will be stolen (especially because of AI), or that a cheap copy will appear before I've been able to finish them. Does anyone else share this feeling?

Yet, atheists claim there is no reason to believe anything exists other than this natural, physical universe—i.e., the cosmos or Nature. But we know empirically that, as a whole, it's been caused, which means it hasn't always existed. By definition, that necessarily means, if Nature is all there is, as atheists insist, and we know empirically that it hasn't always existed, then we know by deduction that because it came into existence, there could not have been anything! Now, of course, we know that's impossible. But that's not our problem; it's the atheists'!
