@erikdoe By any chance are you one who wrote Spectre a Dock app for Rhapsody OS / Mac OS X Server 1.X?

Next week, on Tuesday evening, Kiran and I will present the Thoughtworks Tech Radar in Zurich. Find out what Thoughtworks learned about the tech landscape in the past six months! thoughtworks.com/about-us/event…
English

@_ediri @thoughtworks @projectsigstore The radar is an experience report. For trial we have to have seen it in production, with at least one of our clients. We can't "force" that.
English

Overall great issue of this year’s @thoughtworks tech radar! 💪
I just miss @projectsigstore cosign under tools! 🥲
Maybe next year?

@Thoughtworks has released their 27 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐑𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐫. In my view, the most interesting points for #DevOps enthusiasts are: linkedin.com/posts/romanoro… Link to radar: thoughtworks.com/radar

@suyambuganesh82 @deepu105 @mraible @thoughtworks With the radar we report on what we've seen in the past six months. There's simply more change in front-end tech. We've even commented on the fact that there is so much change in front-end, and pondered the question whether/why that seems to be necessary.
English

@deepu105 @mraible @thoughtworks It is always the shiny frontend gets lot of attention irrespective of the level of contribution added by the backend systems.
English

Things I think are interesting in @thoughtworks latest radar:
Trial:
- Micro frontends for mobile
- Software Bill of Materials
- Gradle Kotlin DSL
- Svelte
Hold:
- SPA by default
Observation: this report seems to be biased towards JS. Hardly any Java or .NET.

@jesterxl On lambdas specifically we wrote this a while ago. Still applicable today, I'd say. thoughtworks.com/radar/techniqu…

Lots of interesting insight in here; I'll link directly to the PDF:

The 2 that jump out immediately are page 19, #26. Superficial cloud native & page 17, #19. Server-driven UI. My thoughts in thread.

The latest edition of the Technology Radar is out! As usual, we collected about 100 items that cover our observations of the software engineering world over the past six months. thoughtworks.com/radar #TWTechRadar

@superevr Not from my side. Znek looked into adapting it to the new logging system in macOS but ran into some issues.

@suninshades The worldmap visualisation is from the original version of the simulator, which is written in Clojure. The visualisation itself is done using web technologies: github.com/erikdoe/crelli…

@suninshades The complete code of the Rust version is in this Github repo: github.com/erikdoe/crelli…

At GOTO Copenhagen I talked about my experience with Rust. The video has just been released: youtube.com/watch?v=WgLlwj… #GOTOcph

@PaulDJohnston @amyvpellegrini @thoughtworks We went into the meeting with six proposed blips that have AWS in the title (I just checked). None of them made it into the radar. For possible reasons see the section "Why is <some-cool-technology> not on the radar?" in the FAQ: thoughtworks.com/radar/faq-and-…
English

@erikdoe @amyvpellegrini @thoughtworks Oh I get that. It does intrigued me though how AWS isn't mentioned. Surely it was noted or discussed among the authors?
It's not like there haven't been any big AWS technologies released or "moving" in the same time periods as on the radar, so it seems odd.
English

Is it me, or is @thoughtworks Technology Radar almost entirely anti-AWS?
There are things like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Google BigQuery ML, CloudFlare Pages, Terraform Validator, SwiftUI...
I see no AWS projects or tools in there at all.
thoughtworks.com/radar
English

@amyvpellegrini @PaulDJohnston @thoughtworks I'm one of the radar authors. It's like Amy says: the radar is a snapshot of what "moved" for us in the last six months. We've had lots and lots of AWS tech on the radar. We like AWS. One volume of the radar doesn't paint the whole picture.
English

@PaulDJohnston @thoughtworks Could be that current AWS services used by Tw are well established tools (and not changing rings) while newer services may have not been explored at all.
