Also the reformation was heavily based in the church fathers, Reformed theology is mostly Augustinian theology. If the fathers gave us the bible, we don't need the institution nor the papacy.

Millions who began to study the Bible personally have left Catholicism. This is truly a historical fact: The Waldensians, Lollards, Protestant Reformers, former priests and scholars, modern Catholics who begin reading Scripture devotionally etc. The Catholic Church forbids independent Bible study for this very reason. The moment people stop reading Scripture through the Catholic filter, the contradictions become painfully obvious. The Bible does not lead people into Romanism. The Bible leads people out of Romanism. If Catholics prayerfully and humbly studied the Scriptures with the desire to obey Christ above church tradition, they would be forced to confront doctrines that contradict the Bible and they would leave Roman Catholicism.
