immunosuppressed patients can persistently be infected with SARS-CoV-2 (in this case ~150 days). Such conditions can help the virus to acquire mutations facilitating immune escape and possibly could lead to increased pathogenicity. nature.com/articles/s4146…

I am happy to have contributed to this work published today! Using high resolution microscopy we were able to image and localize most of the viral proteins in the context of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Go read the paper to find out what we discovered ;-)

@grosse_lab found that the virus induces the formation of filopodia, potentially via CK2 activation that co-localises with N at these extensions. This may contribute to the viral egress and infection of nearby cells.

@grosse_lab We had some nuclear labelling that turned out to be an artefact. It disappeared when we changed the fixation buffer. Are you using PFA in PBS? @YasirSIA resolved this issue.
