Our work on the global origins and spread of canine rabies is now out on @NatureComms. We developed a new method that combines both full and partial viral genome sequences to trace the history of viral diseases more precisely. With @GuyBaele nature.com/articles/s4146…

How unequal is the global SARS-CoV-2 genomic surveillance? 🦠🧬 Our recently published @NatureComms article analysed how countries performed in the first two years of pandemic, both in terms of sequencing intensity and timeliness of surveillance. 🧵👇🏾 nature.com/articles/s4146…

The BQ.1.1 variant, as compared with many of the other new variants, is resistant to all clinically used monoclonal antibodies. BQ.1/BQ.1.1 are now the dominant variants in the United States thelancet.com/journals/lanin… @TheLancetInfDis

🥂Our study on the activity of monoclonal antibodies against BA.4 and BA.5 is is now live in @CellRepMed ! 🔵Beyond reassuring data on Evusheld against these variants, there is cool data on ADCC, showing that it does not correlate to neutralization. Check our paper @NatureComms Our updated #SARSCoV2 #vaccine  (using the yellow fever vaccine as vector) protects hamsters against all VoC.  Also, vaccinated animals do not transmit the virus to unvaccinated cage mates. Top job Kai Dallmeier and @hendrikthibaut1 . @KU_Leuven
