Quite frankly, the only @Pirates exit velocity I care about is the owner's.

@esh714 @JasonMcCourty It's unequivocally true, but casuals like yourself can't grasp it. It's cool. I bet you have a ton of fun with your pickleball crew.

Stop it, @JasonMcCourty The narrative that "Mike Tomlin did so much with so little for so many years" is simply a false one championed by the national sports media. #steelers

@BurghCave @JasonMcCourty Not disrespecting him at all. The narrative that he had teams without talent is revisionist history. There were no “5-12” rosters, even with KP at quarterback.

Well, maybe you’re not “mad” but I dont understand the disrespect that is constantly thrown at Tomlin as a terrible coach. A terrible coach goes 5-12, 4-13 not winning seasons - even if 9-8 or 10-7. Tomlin is far from a perfect coach, has his flaws. No doubt - but if anyone says anything remotely positive they get drilled by media and fans. 2 things are true He is a good coach and he did underachieve here. 2017 should’ve been a Super Bowl team. He dragged 5-12 teams to the playoffs 19 YEARS and only coached 1 GAME that he was out of playoff contention. 1 GAME IN 19 YEARS. That’s a good coach

@Lawyeredup1 @JasonMcCourty I covered/reported on every game in the time period I mentioned. I stand by my belief it was an era of underachievement and missed opportunities. There were additional individual seasons in which the same can be said.

My response: Antonio Brown, Le’Veon Bell, and Ben Roethlisberger - the “Killer B’s” — were all on the Steelers at the same time from 2013 to 2017. Total playoff games all three played in together: 4 (won 2017 Wild Card, won Divisional Round, lost AFC Championship game at NE, and lost 2018 Divisional Round to Jags). In the 2017 game against NE, Le'Veon Bell was injured in the 1st half and didn't return. Against the Jags, 2 critical turnovers by Big Ben (who played well) doomed the Steelers. INT at the Steelers' 18-yrd line leading to a Jag's TD. Big Ben fumble returned for a TD to make the score 28-7. It was a shootout from then on. The Jags' game had extenuating circumstances, but that's the only underachievement I saw with the killer Bees. The rest of the time, the Steelers' stars were never healthy at the same time during playoff runs.

@Lawyeredup1 @JasonMcCourty I’ll begin here. From 2011-2020, he had several very gifted skilled-position players on offense to go with one of the NFL’s best o lines + 8 first round picks used on defensive players and a trade for an All Pro safety without a single Super Bowl appearance.

@esh714 @JasonMcCourty It would appear you believe the opposite is true, namely, "Mike Tomlin did so little with so much for so many years." If that's your position, please explain with facts.

Not mad at that take at all, I do think Tomlin through the years has done a good job with personalities and keeping that team together. But over the years they had a ton of talent and fell short. I think they’re still going to be a playoff contender and am excited to see the McCarthy impact! The team is better around Rodgers this season and Patrick Graham creates chaos on defense with how he attacks.

The Steelers voluntary offseason practice sessions begin Monday and Aaron Rodgers is expected to be there. Rodgers didn’t commit to the Steelers last year until their mandatory minicamp in June. This year he will be there earlier.
Adam Schefter@AdamSchefter

Sources: Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers now have reached agreement on a one-year deal. Rodgers officially is reuniting with the Steelers and their new head coach Mike McCarthy for the 2026 season.

When it came to blowing leads, I didn’t think anything could top #penguins back in December, but #pirates are taking it to another level through the first 2 months.

@SaturdayinHV You are 100% wrong. Once HCMC settled in and studied the QBs, he and his staff made their choice. If PSU wanted Bourque, they would have gotten him.

Peter Bourque picked Virginia Tech and James Franklin. Any account telling you Penn State didn't really want him is rewriting history in real time. Penn State needed a quarterback in this class and Bourque was the best option on the board. He was the top uncommitted QB. Will Wood is next. The staff already made five in-home visits. The relationship is genuine. Missing Bourque is not the end of this story. Missing Bourque and Wood would be a different conversation entirely. We Are. 🦁

3-star QB Will Wood, No. 3 player out of Massachusetts and No. 29 quarterback in the Class of 2027, will be announcing his commitment tomorrow afternoon. Keep an eye out as he decides between Penn State, Boston College, UConn, Arkansas and West Virginia.

@Wearecovered He may, but he and his agent got VT to throw the most $$ at him. That’s on top of what UM gave him.

@esh714 @KyleRePhilly @PeteThamel MM is doing exactly the same thing he does with every QB he has coached dating back to Aaron Rodgers. MM just said a few days ago that Allar is no different than every other young QB he has worked with.

@KyleRePhilly @PeteThamel Every single starting QB James Franklin had at Penn State went on to be drafted into the NFL. That trend looks to continue at Va Tech with Grunk.
