The Workers Day Celebration hosted by the Nigeria Labour Congress at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt, was a poignant occasion to stand in solidarity with our workers.
It provided an opportunity to reaffirm our unwavering commitment to their welfare and to the well-being of our people.
We acknowledge and wholeheartedly appreciate the pivotal role of the workforce in driving the implementation of government policies and agendas. In fact, they are vitally indispensable to the delivery of people-oriented services in our beloved state.

But for his hubris, Peter Obi may have been Nigeria's vice President today, with a good chance of taking over from Waziri Atiku Abubakar in 2031. But he took advice from a madman at upper Iweka. And foolishly believed that a united Peoples Democratic Party that could not defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress in 2019 could now divide in 2023 and conquer the APC that we could not defeat when we were united. Did I not say it before? A trader is different from a leader. Peter Obi will lose at the Supreme Court. He will lose if he runs again in 2027. And he will keep on losing until he either gets tired of losing or running.

Once elections have been held and a winner is announced, we must follow the Jonathan doctrine and accept the people's verdict in the interest of democracy and the nation. Our elections don't have to end in the courts. But now that we have found ourselves in this position, and the courts have spoken, let us put national interest above self-interest, accept the verdict, and move on so the nation can advance.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu, @officialABAT, is the duly elected and undisputed President of Nigeria, @NGRPresident, and this judgment should settle all questions and erase all doubts.
I commend the judges of the Presidential Election Petition Court for doing a challenging job exceptionally well. It was democracy that won. So, I commend both the President and his challengers.
Coincidentally, this verdict is coming as the President marks a hundred days in office, days that have been eventful, effective and decisive. And now, without this unnecessary uncertainty hanging over his head, we can expect even better days.
Finally, I call on supporters of all the parties to this now settled case to be mindful of recent events on our continent and thus tailor their words and actions to promote the peace, progress and prosperity of Nigeria as one democratic and united nation under God. #PEPCJudgment

Yes, the Naira has tumbled to an all-time low of ₦950 to $1, and we are all rushing to the Internet with our data purchased from MTN, Airtel and Etisalat to complain. And the usage of such data from these foreign companies is part of what is driving the value of the Naira down.
Only 28% of Nigerians use Glo. 65% of our population uses either MTN, Airtel or Etisalat. How, then, do we expect the Naira to rise? By magic? Don't you know that part of the reason you are having ₦950 to $1 is because foreign companies repatriate over $8 billion annually from Nigeria to their home countries?
I was in Nigeria this past week, and I inspected Innoson Motors vehicles. They are so affordable, elegant, and aesthetically pleasing. Yet, how many of us drive IVM cars? I commend the Governor of Abia state, Alex Otti, for riding in an Innoson car during his swearing-in.
The National Assembly should amend the Appropriation Act of 2023 to make it illegal for the Federal, State, or Local Government to buy anything other than Innoson motors, or any other made in Nigeruw vehicle. And no government building in Nigeria must be built with any cement other than Dangote, Ibeto, or any other made in Nigeria concrete.
President Tinubu should lead by example in that area. It is worthy of note that he is living in a two-bedroom flat. But if he and all the thirty-six state governors and their appointees drive IVM cars, Nigerians will also buy them, and that will reduce the $8 billion Nigeria currently spends importing foreign vehicles annually.
Only by replacing foreign goods and services with made-in-Nigeria alternatives, even if they are not as good, can the Naira's value increase.
But we don't have that patriotic spirit. We want to wear footwear made in Italy and Spain and expect our Naira to spin around. Ko le work.
Mr President, unless and until you change Nigeria's consumption behaviour by placing a heavy tax burden on foreign goods and services, our Naira will continue to do like Black Maria!

@renoomokri Don't give us any money..
Instead create a transport scheme that can convey the masses in all the 36 states..and it should be free for all.... something that work in the morning and evening...use the money and buy the buses and also pay for other logistics

The plan by President Tinubu to pay ₦8000 monthly to 12 million households as fuel subsidy removal palliatives is commendable. It gives a human face to the harsh economic necessity of petrol subsidy withdrawal.
But to help our nation grow, I would suggest to the President that he ties the ₦8000 monthly payment to the condition that children in recipient families MUST attend school and have their payment vouchers signed by the principal/headmaster of their school proving that they attended school throughout that month, failure of which they will not be paid.
That way, Nigeria will reduce her current population of 20 million out-of-school children. And it will have an immediate impact on our economy, as educated children tend to be healthier, less likely to engage in terrorism and criminality, and also less likely to be teenage parents.
Furthermore, as a nation, we should not only give fish to people experiencing poverty. We should also teach willing Nigerians how to fish.
I, therefore, recommend to the President that he may want to provide free training and business grants (not loans, but grants) to at least half a million Nigerian youths to enable them to start up verifiable small and medium-scale enterprises. Nigeria's situation is similar to that of the United States of the 1930s, and this was how President FDR Roosevelt empowered Americans through the New Deal.
In that way, the President will help Nigerian youths to help themselves as well as to help Nigeria.
Once again, good job, and kudos to the President. If he, however, does wrong, he should also expect knocks.
