Jake Auchincloss is essentially endorsing Susan Collins in Maine. Absolutely no excuse for a Democrat in the House to back a Republican for Senate in a crucial swing seat. Auchincloss should be primaried. His primary election is September 1 in a safe, D+11 seat.

In an interview with CNN on Monday, Rep. Jake Auchincloss (D-MA) says he finds Graham Platner's tattoo disqualifying and hopes Maine voters agree with him Auchincloss: “I find that tattoo and his commentary about it to be personally disqualifying. I hope Maine voters agree with me.” #MaineSenate

Oddly this person blocked me after I was referred to in a tweet, before I messaged anything! @DiazLsd1990 !!! Anyway, no, Europeans were not "more backwards than the Aztecs... astronomically speaking". In fact, the Aztecs never managed to build a planetary model as good as the 2nd c AD Ptolemaic Model. What they did have was a calendar that was better, in various ways, than the Julian calendar (you know, made by Julius Caesar in 46BC, over 1400 years before the Aztec empire started). Europeans knew that the Julian calendar was problematic, at least from the 8th c. Well, certainly even Caesar knew it had problems, but he had made a calendar that worked for what he needed at the time. Various Popes had tried to bring in calendar reforms, at least since Pope Sylvester II c. 1000AD, but they often died before the program could complete, and the process was restarted many times. The 1582 Gregorian calendar was still made using the Ptolemaic model, was better than any Aztec calendar to date, and still used the 2nd c Ptolemaic model to calculate it. With a variety of corrections that had been applied over the centuries, using tools that the Aztecs at their collapse couldn't have imagined how to fabricate.

The show must go on!

🧵The IDF struck the Al-Aqsa Hospital grounds on Aug 16, 2025, reported as an illegal attack “targeting healthcare.” But Hamas just admitted the IDF's real target: Hamas commander Mahmoud Fayez who used the hospital as a base, a systematic Hamas strategy. Sources: 1/
