There will be a lot of changes between now and the offseason for the 49ers, but of their needs two I’d like to see filled are a veteran safety and a vertical threat on the outside for their offense.

Score-wise, this might end up in the same bucket as the 49ers' loss to the NY Giants in the 1986 playoffs: 49-3 defeat with Joe Montana and Jerry Rice. SF returned with a #1 seed team the next season and then won back-to-back Super Bowls in 88 and 89. Just have to heal and replenish the weaknesses. Margins in this league are tight
