@nursie6 @Dr_Done_ Def are a team. But drug prescribed by doctor/nurse that’s written up incorrectly will be challenged by the drug giver, usually a nurse. They are accountable for the drug administration and will suffer the conseq of administerg wrongly prescribed drugs. Prescriber is unlikely 2b!

@Dr_Done_ Do it all the time mate and change their prescriptions if they are not correct.

Side note: Countless times I've seen admin staff, HCAs, nurses, and noctors try to undermine or intimidate doctors for a weak, pathetic ego trip. If this happens to you give it back ten-fold (I do). You are in charge. You studied and sacrificed for it. Yes, even F1s. 🖕🖕🖕

@DrRJWebb It's not about the person and their achievements it's about TERMINOLOGY and NOT UNDERMINING our historically established hierarchy which is still in place for us. He's clearly high achieving but consultant is a medical label. Call him anything else I don't care but not consultant

Lots of derogatory things about the Consultant Nurse on *that* post. He has over 20 years experience in emergency and pre-hospital care, a PhD, 130 publications, is an honorary professor. So maybe saying he’s not dedicated enough years to his discipline, is a poor show.

@drjanaway This gives me the ick. "My staff" is down there with when a Med consultant says "My nurse" or anyone from the MDT says "My patient". We dont own people. I'm sure the doctors would have been happy to relocate for one day if the message had been communicated better.

@ProfJuneG @NurseStandard 1/2 Worked fine for me when I trained in the 80s. I ended up a Senior Lecturer, mainly taught post reg in a highly specialist area. Was shocked at the training of undergrads. Too much time on modules that should have been post grad like teaching, management, politics etc

Just to put things into perspective for a second. This government is currently objecting to raising a newly qualified doctors pay from £14 to £19 an hour
