Many neurodivergent people don't rebel for the sake of it. They just struggle with rules that don't make sense.

I've realized long-distance friendships aren't held together by big conversations. They're held together by tiny updates. "Just made pancakes." "Missed my bus." "Saw the cutest dog today." It's such a simple way of saying, "I thought of you."

A psychologist I know who's autistic once told me she can often tell when a woman's ADHD went unnoticed as a child. "She was the girl who was never any trouble. Adults called her mature. What they didn't see was how early she learned to struggle in silence." That stuck with me.

One thing that stuck with me: Research suggests many people with ADHD experience rejection much more intensely than others. Sometimes one cold reply doesn't just hurt your feelings—it changes your entire day.

I hope every hopeless romantic finds someone who makes love feel calm instead of confusing someone who's completely unapologetically devoted to them.

Dating while neurodivergent teaches you pretty quickly who's willing to understand you... and who was only in love with the version of you they imagined.
