I just got off the phone with someone who works in defense policy in Washington. What they told me should end every "Trump is reckless" argument permanently. "Every single president since Clinton received the same intelligence briefing on Iran's nuclear timeline. Every single one was told the window was closing. Every single one chose to kick it down the road because the political cost of acting was higher than the political cost of waiting." Trump got the same briefing. 60kg of 90% enriched uranium. 4 weeks to breakout. Material for 2 bombs. He chose to act knowing it would tank his approval to 35%. He chose to act knowing his own base would split. He chose to act knowing NATO allies would refuse to help. He chose to act knowing gas prices would spike. A senior analyst I know at a major think tank put it this way: "The difference between Trump and every president before him isn't intelligence. They all had the same data. The difference is courage." Read that again. Every president had the same file on their desk. Only one opened it and did something. I'll keep you updated. Turn on notifications. 🚨

@sambrazy you could've left out the first part about not watching NBA because the second part of the tweet makes that obvious enough

@chamath @haralabob most people in this country right now are at the level of choosing between either paying their health insurance premium and filling up their car with gas. to them, your existence as a smug billionaire is infuriating in and of itself.

@mitchellvii yes, and to GWB for attacking Iraq BEFORE they used the WMD they didn't have. a "professional talker" stating such obvious drivel is beyond sad.

I compare Trump hitting IRAN now to Roosevelt attacking Japan BEFORE Pearl Harbor, or England hitting Hitler BEFORE he invaded Poland, or tightening up airline security BEFORE 9/11. We in the West always seem to wait until AFTER the disaster to take action. Trump is different.

@AGPamBondi we will be eagerly looking forward to the day you are hauled in front of the presidential crimes tribunal. the DOW may or may not be at 50,000, but you will still be investigated and held either criminally or civilly liable to the fullest extent of the law.

Attorney General Pamela Bondi
Over the next month I will be working tirelessly to transition the office of Attorney General to the amazing Todd Blanche before moving to an important private sector role I am thrilled about, and where I will continue fighting for President Trump and this Administration. Leading President Trump’s historic and highly successful efforts to make America safer and more secure has been the honor of a lifetime, and easily the most consequential first year of the Department of Justice in American history. Since February 2025, we have secured the lowest murder rate in 125 years, secured first-ever terrorism convictions against members of Antifa, shattered domestic and transnational gangs across the country, taken custody of more than 90 key cartel figures, and won 24 favorable rulings at the Supreme Court. I remain eternally grateful for the trust that President Trump placed in me to Make America Safe Again.

Pam Bondi led this Department with strength and conviction and I’m grateful for her leadership and friendship. Thank you to President Trump for the trust and the opportunity to serve as Acting Attorney General. We will continue backing the blue, enforcing the law, and doing everything in our power to keep America safe.

Democrats and the left-wing media are dishonestly taking President Trump’s comments out of context. President Trump was talking about the importance of stopping the scams and rooting out the billions of dollars in fraud in these vital programs that elected Democrat officials have allowed to happen. President Trump's record proves he will always protect and strengthen Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. The President proudly signed the Working Families Tax Cuts, which eliminate taxes on Social Security benefits for nearly all seniors and bar illegal aliens and other ineligible individuals from fraudulently receiving Medicare and Medicaid benefits. The Trump economic agenda will continue to lower costs and make everyday life more affordable for hardworking American families.

The New York Times just confirmed what we've long suspected: ActBlue knowingly let in fraudulent foreign donations to help Democrats win. Yet another example of the left's embrace of fraud. Everyone involved must face the full weight of the law.

@luggwitzz @TomCottonAR there's either a vast democrat conspiracy across all federal and state jurisdictions in the entire country,or maybe there are zero arrests because the items on this list are right wing hoaxes peddled to gullible rubes like you so you would reelect a two-faced conman as president.

1/6 Look at the absolute disaster unfolding right now, and remember exactly who told you to vote for Trump in 2024. The people who sold you this catastrophe should be discredited forever, and you should never listen to their political advice again🧵

@zachweinberg @DKThomp @mattyglesias the causal rx bw, on the one side, billionaires getting even wealthier by expanding their business ventures, and, on the other side, the health, safety, welfare, and happiness of the less fortunate of our society on the other side is, if not zero, very likely a negative one.

Of course. It's a distribution. Some work, some don't. But the non-profit system is extraordinarily inefficient, struggles to recruit top talent, rarely scales (meaning it's short term bandaids vs long term scalable help). A few groups are great (Gates foundation for example). But for-profit incentivize system is a much more natural setup for long term impact. Self sustaining businesses.

There’s nothing wrong with getting rich — if you built up a net worth of billions you probably did something useful. But spending all that money on high living or your own kids rather than giving some to those in need is genuinely problematic. slowboring.com/p/the-real-pro…
