@Jeremyakee Yes. At my parish, I’d say it’s roughly 1/4 to 1/3 who receive on the tongue. Higher percentage if you look at only those under ~40

@BrainyPirate It certainly is for us Catholics. However, it is the one day of the year when absolutely no masses are celebrated anywhere on earth. We have to consecrate a bunch extra on Holy Thursday and use that at the Good Friday liturgy.

A friend of mine is annoyed that many local churches are serving communion on Good Friday. I didn't realize that was a no-no. Is GF communion standard in some denominations?

My parish (which serves a university and a local population) does this and there is basically always at least one person in there praying all day long!

I know that some US parishes might not be comfortable doing this, but *please* consider leaving the churches open during the day - even if there is nothing going on. It’s a beautiful thing when people can just pop in and pray for a moment.
