I absolutely ~cannot stand~ if I:
...Am late
...Am unprepared for a meeting or teaching a class
...Owe someone money (even for a small Venmo)
...Know someone might be waiting on me for a response
I thought it was weird for a while, but then I just realized it was just a strong sense of personal responsibility.
Bring back personal responsibility.

What's crazy about this WSJ piece is that I actually want the AI future Apple would be poised to deliver — a personal AI assistant that knows everything, running locally on a secure and private device you control.
Please, Tim Apple — buy Anthropic and build this.

AI doesn’t just open the door to possibly replace the iPhone—it seriously threatens Tim Cook’s ethos around user privacy on.wsj.com/457csG2

the Clari and Salesloft merge is just the beginning.
1) too many overlapping solutions built on an over priced per headcount pricing model that is dying.
2) ai is enabling companies to scale with a fraction of the headcount needed in the 2010s.
3) the future winners are the ones that understand the difference between shelfware, and revenue-ware.
4) prove that you can incrementally move the revenue needle and charge a fraction of the incremental growth you drive.
agree or disagree?

@mikero_manager if it’s a statistical proof based on empirical evidence i would say the history of the universe points to superior intelligences rarely express selfless care over the well being of the lessers. 😂

a few hundred years ago humans didn’t need gyms because daily life was a workout.
we are going to need brain gyms soon.

AI is creating a new form of addiction that's way more dangerous than social media, gambling, or day trading. And unlike those things, this one isn't going away - it's being built into everything. Thread on why this matters: 🧵👇

@ethanjohnpope @weeenzy @J5ive Don't listen to either @ethanjohnpope or @J5ive. White Lotus blows. Watching True Detective instead.

I’ll be 35 years old this year and I probably play anywhere from 10-15 hours of video games per week.
I have told myself that it’s fine because that’s how I decompress and hang with my friends. But now we don’t even play the same games, and I’m really bad at listening and playing, so even when we’re talking I’m only half engaged.
It’s too easy to get sucked into the hype around when games will release, major updates, etc. My algorithms on every network are just games games games.
I’m not even good anymore. I lose a lot. And when I win, the wins are hollow.
Just gave my wife the power cord to my pc and told her to hide it. Idk what’s next but it’s clear I need a break.
She even tried to talk me out of it. “All my friends’ husbands play games.”
I hate that it’s how I spend every evening, and what I think about and research. I hate how it’s so central to my life.
I consider myself to a decently intelligent dude and what pains me the most is how knowingly spent the last 20+ years of my life on something that hasn’t really given anything back to me.
I figured reddit would have some posts about this…they did and a common point was that their only regret is that they didn’t do it sooner.
Maybe I should just sell the damn thing.
