Which universities and colleges offer a soils/landscapes field course? Is there a list somewhere? UMN has a 2 week field course that is amazing. I would love to learn about the field courses that other schools offer too!

@clicjf En effet! On voit en fait, dans certaines circonstances, un effet positif de la récolte de débris sur la régénération, car cette pratique peut aider à créer des microsites favorables aux nouveaux arbres

🌲=🌡️⬇️=😍 right? Not everywhere! In our new perspective, we highlight why tree-planting in the #Arctic and large parts of the #boreal zone is not going to cool our climate. Let's focus on the #natural #ecosystems (incl 🦬) instead for both #climate and #biodiversity 🌿

Individual Sphagnum mosses lack structure and are prone to stress and desiccation. As a community and intertwined they fight off massive wildfires and protect the world’s largest soil carbon stock. Learn from Sphagnum. Be the Sphagnum. Let’s go.

@ListophileJ L'angoisse que cela crée parmi les étudiants gradués d'origine étrangère est tellement élevée (comme si leur vie n'était déjà pas assez compliquée comme ça)

Wee but mighty, 4 reasons why Sphagnum moss is badass: ✅Stores more carbon than any plant genus ✅Preserves archaeological treasures ✅Protects forests from drought and wildfire ✅Keeps permafrost cold Save bogs, save Sphagnum, save us.

@ListophileJ I understand and feel the dissonance, but also glad/relieved that some scientists still stick around so that we have a (still convenient) way to learn about their work!
