We are leading the charge in the fight against #LungCancer, thanks to a new cross-border project aimed at establishing screening programmes across the island of #Ireland. The LUNG SHOT project will bring leading experts and key stakeholders in #NorthernIreland and the Republic of Ireland together to collaborate on tackling the disease. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in Northern Ireland and the third most common #Cancer in the Republic of Ireland. Despite growing evidence that #EarlyDetection through #Screening can significantly reduce mortality, neither region have yet funded a formal lung cancer screening programme.
