Many skeptics are nice people. I, however, am not so I'm gonna say what many know but no one will speak. Amy Eskridge's family or friends were feeding her delusional belief she was a genius scientist. She was not. She was one of thousands of people who get undergrad degrees in chemistry from state colleges every year in the U.S. But instead of going on to be a substitute teacher like the rest, she entered a world of her own imagination, manifesting a belief she was more special than the rest. Her family or friends fed this belief. They may have done it out of pity or kindness, but they did it. UFO belief is too insidious for some topics to be unspeakable.
