Another American community turned into a combat zone. ICE agents shot and killed a person in the streets of Biddeford, Maine. They are acting like Trump's racist secret police force because they know they have zero accountability. It is long past time to abolish ICE, strip them of this unchecked power, and prosecute every single agent involved to the fullest extent of the law. Jen Pawol lost control today. She made countless mistakes. Even worse, when challenged, her ego and attitude infuriated both teams. She is statistically one of the worst umpires in MLB. Always has been. She doesn't belong. Not because she's female, but because she's terrible.

As we approach 30 minutes to tip off, I've gotta say: I've been a sports fan for 40+ years, and I've never felt more guilty, or more wrong, than the criticism I leveled towards Christie Sides. Like many others, I wanted to see the Iowa CC right out of the gate in the WNBA. That first half of her rookie season was just gross. And in hindsight, it had nothing to do with CC or coach Sides. The level of attention defending teams were giving CC was unmatched. It was a young team that hadn't established an identity yet, and had zero time to develop any kind of chemistry. Couple that with the fact that their schedule to start the season was absolutely ridiculous. Constant back-to-back games, all vs the best teams in the league...it was nasty. Sides was thrown in the fire. She had to figure things out and make adjustments in real time... trying to figure out how to let this unique phenomenon of a player do her thing. After the all-star break, they had started to gel together, Sides stepped back and let CC do her thing, and they were arguably the best team in the league that second half of the season. CC went on to be ROY, and then Sides was fired to bring in Stephanie White. I don't know that I've ever BEEN more wrong as a sports fan. My apologies Christie.
