My OpEd in @nytimes from 2018 seems more relevant today than ever before- "No president should ever rule unchecked. No person should ever be given free rein to disregard the basic tenets of society, law and order, freedom and respect." #Venezuela #Trump nytimes.com/2018/10/17/opi…

@TariqAli_News They are risking repression/torture/detention, so it's not surprising that so few are willing to publicly protest the Trump-delcy alliance.

I know a lot of people are in a frenzy over the new #AOSMemo and what to do/expect going forward. I will break my own rule (yet again!) and provide this **limited** legal advice to anyone potentially affected: if you have a pending adjustment or if you plan on filing one this year, PLEASE, Please, Please talk to a qualified immigration attorney. Checking @aila search feature or your state's bar association referral options are a good start if you do not know or have one yet. But please, do yourself (and your family) a favor and do not rely or look for meaningful legal advice on this or other social media platforms. You are not going to get one, trust me! A lot of experts are sharing and providing general analysis and this is extremely valuable, follow the experts. But the information provided is not tailored to anyone's specific case and does not address your specific circumstances!!!
Nicolette Glazer@NicoletteGlazer

Holy shit! Someone posted this RFE in a pending immediate relative Adjustment of Status under yesterday's #AOSmemo: "In order to establish your eligibility for adjustment of status, you must demonstrate that there are positive factors in your case, such that your Form I-485 warrants a favorable exercise of discretion. These positive factors may include, but are not limited to, any of the following: *Family ties within the United States; *Residence of long duration in this country (particularly when residence began at a young age); *Hardship to the applicant or applicant's family if relief is not granted; *Education; *Fluency or proficiency in English; *Service in the U.S. armed forces; *A history of employment; *The existence of business or property ties; *Evidence of value and service to the community (ex: religious organizations, volunteer organizations; etc.); *Paying taxes; *Proof of rehabilitation if a criminal record exists; and *Any other evidence demonstrating that a favorable exercise of discretion is warranted in your case.

Frustration is growing in Venezuela against Delcy and her subservience to Trump. In response to today's unprecedented US military exercises in Caracas, some Venezuelans braved the streets to protest Trump and Delcy's subordination. "Yankee Go Home" has returned... #FueraTrump

Movimientos de izquierda venezolanos protestaron este sábado en la mañana en Chacaito, contra los ejercicios militares realizados por la embajada de Estados Unidos en Caracas, en los que participaron dos aeronaves VTOL Osprey V22. Foto mía.

@JenniferJJacobs @DeFede @JimLaPorta Hi Jennifer, can you clarify the use of "paramilitary leader" in this context? Is this individual not an official member of the US military? A contractor? A Colombian paramilitary leader? Unusual that CIA would publicly bring along a mercenary 'leader' to an official meeting.

3. Implica q deben liberar a Nicolas y a Cilia x el Derecho internacional humanitario.

I denounced at @ABC the “collective punishment” imposed by the United States against the Cuban people. I stressed that the lack of fuel is directly affecting sensitive services, including medical care. I affirmed that #Cuba is willing to dialogue with the U.S., but on a clear basis: reciprocity, sovereign equality, respect for independence, and non-interference in internal affairs. Cuba will not negotiate its sovereignty or accept impositions on its internal affairs. No internal affair of Cuba has been or will ever be part of a negotiation. Given the possibility of military aggression, the firm response is: If someone attempts to attack or invade Cuba, they will find an entire people willing to defend their sovereignty and independence. youtu.be/GmyQjlY-f3Q

The Trump admin is quietly deleting info about the Capitol attack from the DOJ website as it prepares to give funds to J6ers. This week, DOJ deleted a press release about one man with an ongoing child solicitation case who came to the Capitol with bear spray. Before and after:

Forcing immigrants pursuing green cards legally to leave behind their homes, their jobs, and in some cases their families betrays the very promise that built this country.
The Wall Street Journal@WSJ

Most green-card applicants will need to go abroad to apply for permanent residency at an American consulate, rather than filing from within the U.S. as they do now, the Trump administration announced Friday. on.wsj.com/4v2Fqkr

This is another attempt to hinder LEGAL immigration and a path to citizenship in its tracks. Are people supposed to leave family, jobs, homes to wait out the process in another country? This process can take years if it’s slow walked. And if they get denied they have little redress. nytimes.com/2026/05/22/us/…

There are 1.2 MILLION legal immigrants waiting for approval on their adjustment of status green card applications. And USCIS says we're not processing you. We're taking your money to pay for our new police force. Thanks. GTFO.

@NotoriousAKG Because the regs don't authorize travel on the O-1 while AOS is pending. But it is dual-intent for the purpose of applying for permanent residence while on an O-1.

9 FAM 402.13-5(B)  (U) Effect of Filing Immigrant Visa Petition (U) USCIS has determined that the approval of a permanent labor certification or the filing of a preference petition shall not be a basis for denying classification as an O-1 or O-3 dependent.  The noncitizen may legitimately come to the United States for a temporary period as an O-1 or O-3 dependent nonimmigrant and depart voluntarily at the end of their authorized stay and, at the same time, lawfully seek to become an LPR of the United States.

Adjustment of Status is not a "loophole". It's a legal immigration process stipulated in the regulations. Visas such as O-1s and H-1Bs are 'dual-intent', which means the visa holder be in the US working on a 'non-immigrant' visa and also apply for permanent residence. It's legal

Explain it to me like I'm 5: Cuba has significant natural wealth -- sugar, tobacco, nickel. American corporations extracted that wealth while ordinary Cubans lived in poverty. Cubans revolute and kick the U.S. out. The U.S. places a 67-year embargo on them, forcing them into deeper poverty. Then tightens it with a specific embargo on oil. Now threatens military action if Cuba doesn't let us back in "to help the Cuban people." If we want to help them, why don't we start by lifting the embargo?

By eliminating Adjustment of Status and making other visa processes increasingly difficult, Trump regime is shifting more of USCIS responsibilities to @StateDept and effectively turning USCIS into a domestic law enforcement branch instead of an immigration processing agency.
USCIS@USCIS

USCIS is applying long-standing law and prior court decisions to require certain aliens with temporary visas who decide they want to permanently reside in the U.S. to return to their home countries to apply for permanent visas through the @StateDept. We're returning to the original intent of the law to ensure aliens navigate our nation’s immigration system properly. Here’s what you should know: uscis.gov/newsroom/news-…

USCIS is shifting the burden to State Dept, but US Consulates already have massive backlogs for immigrant visa processing, which means even longer wait times (years) for legal immigrants to obtain permanent residency. They are effectively eliminating the green card path for most.
