@MartinSLewis When my first parent ( dad) died. I was 29 and married ( no kids yet) but still, that was my defining grown up moment.

@uncutnews @wesstreeting 52% of those who completed the second year of their rotation is now unemployed. The NHS has no further training posts for them. My daughter is an F1. We already had the talk. If she is unemployed at the end of her second year, she will move to NZ. The only option to work as a dr.

We already have a medical school with ONLY international students. The Tories now risk another. Thousands of straight-A students being turned away from studying medicine. We’re short of doctors. Labour will double the number of medical school places. theguardian.com/education/2023…

@onstagefool @spidermanmsy @MartinSLewis I have 2. Not enough space here but last meter change went so wrong, I had to fight for years and eventually going to ombudsman and getting thousands reimbursed. Not worth the stress…

You’re being ripped off on energy bills if you’re on the Price Crap!  If you aren’t on a fix or special deal, give this a listen, many can save £100s then compare via my cheapenergyclub.com  (the only major whole of market by default comparison)
Martin Lewis@MartinSLewis

ENERGY QUESTION TIME PODCAST! Time to fix (spoiler: YES!)? How do I get credit back? Are Smart Meters thick? The Price Cap rose 2% today & will stay high across winter. Yet many can save £100s. Do listen podcasts.APPLE.com/gb/podcast/the… open.SPOTIFY.com/show/6tsU1ycEN… BBC.co.uk/sounds/brand/p…

@sophielouisecc According to you, should I be hit by long term illness, the state shouldnt support me, where I paid my taxes all my life. But my birth country, where I never paid any taxes should support me. Yeah, that sounds fair.

@sophielouisecc So, I’m not UK born. Came here 30 years ago after married my English husband. Always worked, decent career, paid lot of taxes. We have two children, one is starting to work as an NHS doctor and the other one is entering uni. 2/1

@chris57136 @narindertweets @elonmusk Non-British born here, married my English husband. 2 children. The firstborn will start working as an NHS doctor in July. The second born is currently doing his A-levels, predicted A*-As. Care to tell me how is your “undiluted” bloodline children faring in school?

@narindertweets @elonmusk Because we want to be the majority in our own country & that means those that have been born here can stay (all colours). But no more entrants. We dont want to be diluted. We like who we are as a people. Charity week needs to end on the British tax payers pocket. Common sense.

@in_bloke @ThatAlexWoman I’ve been having the flu vaccine for decades. I went down with flu on Monday. As the og poster said, covid was a walk in a park compared to this. So to answer your smug theory: no, there is no connection. You can’t be protected agains all possible strains… genius

So I've had the worst flu imaginable this past week I've become so gaunt I've morphed into Ted Danson and have viral inner ear brain rot that makes me feel like I'm on a rotating dance floor in KCs in Gloucester aged 16 having downed a litre of Aftershock Everyone seems to have had this mutant flu. Makes Covid look like a hiccup

@QualiaAddict @ShepherdWales The poster angry about Cardiff uni. I can’t remember clearly ( daughter is in final year now) but they take 8 subjects results. She had all 8 and 9s and ( A* and A** ) and just made the cut by 2 points. Tbh I don’t know any other university which takes GSCEs into consideration.

@ShepherdWales What were his actual GCSE results? When you talk of mainly As and A*s with some Bs, do you really mean 7s and the odd 8 and a few 5/6s? He would be against others with straight 9s who didn't take 14 - why did he? What were his grades in GCSE English? What is his UCAT score?

@lukatate @kiradavis We know how tough it is to do it alone and wouldn’t want to put neither of our children through it. We will be wherever we will be needed. 2/2

@lukatate @kiradavis Interesting point you’re making. We’ve had no help from either side of parents. My side lived abroad, his side was messy, divorced, mental health issues etc and also lived 70 miles away. All this taught us is to be very careful with retirement planning. 2/1

I’m thinking about writing a book about the devastating phenomenon of baby boomer grandparents refusing to be directly involved with their children and grandchildren. I’ve heard so many sad stories from GenX parents like me recently. I have one too. I think it should be explored

@emmaroc33249448 Daughter is white, offers from 3 out of 4 med schools she applied to. straight A* but she didn’t just apply. She put a huge effort in preparation from age16. Weeks of practicing for UCAS, relevant EPQ, work experience in GP surgery, 100+ hours volunteering in a care home and more

Race to the bottom When did Brits become a 3rd class in their own country My neighbours daughter was told if you're white you go to the bottom of the pile . She's beautiful, articulate and got 3A* at a level. She didn't even get an interview at her three choices. If you're white you have to fight extra hard for the few places . You have to put your skin colour and sexual preferences on your application form. You need to be gay at the very least and brown: black. Otherwise it's practically impossible. @benhabib6 @KemiBadenoch @10DowningStreet @MichelleDewbs @GregHands @SuellaBraverman @danny__kruger @RishiSunak @MPIainDS @LeeAndersonMP_ @Jacob_Rees_Mogg @Nigel_Farage @LozzaFox @MartinDaubney @JuliaHB1 @toadmeister @andreajenkyns @andrealeadsom @ABridgen @pritipatel @Jeremy_Hunt @EstherMcVey1 @thenewcons @trussliz @grantshapps @TomTugendhat @JSHeappey @AJonesMP @Mather_Keir @michelledonelan @SteveBarclay @wesstreeting @VictoriaAtkins Hundreds of UK's brightest students denied chance to train as doctors mol.im/a/13355915

@Brittymigs We’ve had this. My daughter got the same Birthday card from us and from her Godmother who lives in Germany. She was about 5 and it was something Disney themed but the other card was in German. Apart from the language they were identical. It really spooked us out.

@lizslayed @AmazonUK We’ve had worse. During covid a delivery driver decided to chuck an item in through an open upstairs window. We were all in, heard a massive bang. Kudos to the robustness of Xbox controllers. Although it landed on hard flooring - it worked fine.

@Kelly_Symatrix Year after year the so called scientific pairing is laughable. I felt Matt and Gemma’s pairing were purely based on tattoos. Same for Jess and PJ. They both like Harry Potter so they paired them up, without looking life goals, ambition etc.

Watching #MAFSUK I'm seriously wondering if the experts are questioning their qualifications. This series has been an absolute failure. Or will they admit they are just after ratings?
