There’s something rotten in the state of the BBC’s political reporting. And unless it’s fixed soon, they will bring the catastrophe of Trump to the UK.

Living in Britain is watching the media smear and vilify good people who want to make positive change, while they celebrate and platform far right goons, funded and backed by almost comically evil tech multimillionaires. It does make you feel a little mad.

The asylum backlog has also more than halved. Odd that such progress is barely mentioned by Labour.

Laura Kuenssberg: "One of your ELECTED representatives said that Nigerians should be melted down to fill in potholes" Richard Tice dismisses this as one of those daft little things candidates sometimes say Laura moves on That's scrutiny, apparently #bbclaurak #BBCBreakfast

Farage says Brexit failed because, "It was never implemented properly". Asked what he would have done differently he said, "Done it properly" he was pressed for details but suddenly had to leave for an urgent appointment. (Presumably not in Clacton)

"Immigration is exploding under Labour" At what point do people realise they’ve been manipulated? What strength of character does it take to honestly admit you were fooled, rather than doubling down?

There is an escape route for Labour from certain disaster at the general election: use their Commons majority to ram through PR. It’s cynical, + they’d never govern alone again, but it locks Reform out of No10. The left (Lab, Gr, LD) still have a majority over the right in the UK

And just like that, the very wealthiest party in the U.K. backed by foreign billionaires is supported by the very poorest members of society who dislike foreigners. You couldn’t make this shit up.

It's staggering how much misinformation is spewed on social media by those brain-washed by the ultra-right/Reform propaganda machine. Net migration has fallen from over 900,000 in 2023, to around 200,000 last year. Small boat crossings were around 4700ish in Q1 this year, around half the Q1 2023 figure. Despite these facts, I am seeing people literally seething, literally radicalised into openly and repeatedly sharing the myth that Labour are somehow responsible for an unpresendented and out of control immigration epidemic. People will vote because of this. They will literally put into power the people responsible for manipulating them and lying to them. And those politicians will screw them, just like they did with Brexit. They will make them poorer, and angrier, and keep finding more minorities to blame for it all. The saddest part, I think it's gone so far that there's almost nothing we can do about it.
